    The silence

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00t3y75

Anyone gonna watch this series ?????

When Amelia, a deaf 18-year-old, witnesses the murder of a policewoman she is suddenly thrust into a hearing world...
The Silence merges the thriller genre with a family drama. When DCI Jim Edwards takes on the homicide investigation of a murdered policewoman, he has no idea how it is going to impact on his relationship with his family. When it transpires that his deaf niece, Amelia, witnessed the murder it puts huge pressure on Jim; he decides to withhold Amelia as a formal witness to protect her, but Jim struggles to make headway with the case whilst keeping Amelia's identity a secret.

DEAF actress Genevieve Barr had to lip-read through all her scenes in BBC1 thriller The Silence - because her hearing aid didn't fit in with her costumes.
Genevieve, who plays deaf teen Amelia in the show, told ITV's This Morning: "It was tricky."

But the actress, who was born deaf, said that lip-reading was "something I've always had to do".

A CAMPAIGN to make Sarah Cawood the new co-host of BBC1's The One Show has been launched on Twitter.

Fans of the former Girly Show presenter, 37, have been sending tweets to drum up support for her to replace GMTV-bound Christine Bleakley.

BBC bosses are still searching for a female anchor to sit alongside Jason Manford after Christine decided to switch channels.

I'm going to catch up with this on the iplayer later. It sounds like another quality drama from the BBC. Is it just a one-off episode or are there more to come?
