    'Hollyoaks' Malachy signs new contract

Hollyoaks actor Glen Wallace has just signed a new contract with the Channel 4 soap.

Speaking to DS on the red carpet at this year's British Soap Awards, the 34-year-old - who plays Malachy Fisher in the teen serial - confirmed that he has inked a deal with the show's new producer Paul Marquess.

However, teasing Malachy's future, he said: "That I couldn't tell you... There's going to be a lot of repercussions with regards to the Calvin situation."

Well if he's staying, guess it's not him that shoots Calvin.

Yes but he seem like an obvious suspect choice so I didnt think it was him

I am glad he is staying he is the only eye candy there for me I just hope he dumps Mercedes soon

I remember reading that he was to die with Kris's help as his HIV got worse

Hollyoaks star Glen Wallace has praised his forthcoming departure storyline, promising that there is a twist in store for his character Malachy Fisher.

The actor recently announced that he would be leaving the Channel 4 show and his final scenes will air towards the end of the year.

Speaking to Inside Soap about how Malachy bows out, Wallace revealed: "There's a really nice twist coming up. I'm going out on a story that our producer Paul Marquess has been planning for a while now.

"It's lovely to be trusted enough to have a really good plot to work on before I leave. But I'm afraid that's all I can tell you!"

Meanwhile, asked to name his favourite scene from the past year, Wallace replied: "The one that really stands out is the showdown between Malachy and Mercedes about her affair with Calvin Valentine during the 'flashforward' episode.

"I'd flown home the day before having run the New York City Marathon, so there was no acting involved. I really was in pain!"
