Winstone wanted for Corrie guest slot

Alan Halsall wants Ray Winstone to play his dad on Coronation Street, according to a report.

Halsall, who plays Weatherfield mechanic Tyrone Dobbs, told Reveal that working with the British star would mark the realisation of a long-held dream.

"It's an ambition of mine to be in a British movie starring Ray, so if I could kill two birds with one stone and act with Ray on Corrie, that would be brilliant," he said.

Winstone has already been eyed for a soap role by EastEnders actor Charlie G Hawkins, who said in February that he would love to play alongside the 'icon' of British screen.


He is a fine actor and would be good as Ty's dad
