Barbara Windsor wants her EastEnders bosses to create a West End musical based on the soap, according to a report.
The news comes just days after it was confirmed that rival serial Coronation Street is plotting a musical theatre production to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Windsor, who is bowing out from her role as Peggy Mitchell this year, said that the project could take inspiration from Cockney musical Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'Be, in which she starred in the '60s.
The 72-year-old told The Sun: "It was a musical I did for Lionel Bart for two-and-a-half years. We could base it on a little bit of that."
She added: "I wouldn't like to be the star of the musical. I would want to be second lead, leave it to someone else to take all the crap!"
Windsor recently confirmed that she will be concentrating on West End roles after she leaves EastEnders.
