I actually have a bit of sympathy for Syed. He's is trying to do the best by his family and religious views I guess. I guess it is hard for him, as it is very frown upon, and he doens't want to be disowned.

I sympathise with him too. It's a terrible thing for him to be told by his mother that she'll disown him if he comes out as gay. The situation is awful for poor Amira too, of course. Everyone suffers when people are made to live a lie.

Airs on Monday, February 22 2010 at 20:00 GMT on BBC One

Alone, she suddenly feels a pain and realises that she's going into labour…

Ronnie asks Ian if she can rent the flat off Ian again and when he spots a hungover Lucy, he agrees. Later, Jane urges Ian to trust Lucy and as he brings himself to allow his daughter some freedom, he finds her in a clinch with Leon.

Zainab gives birth to a baby boy

Airs on Tuesday, February 23 2010 at 19:30 GMT on BBC One

A panicky Zainab desperately tries to escape the office at the unit while in labour. At the house, Masood ushers Syed, Amira and Tamwar out to a function without checking their emails. Having had a heart-to-heart in The Vic, Christian's upset by how torn Syed is between his family and their friendship, so heads to the unit to see Zainab. From the other side of the office door, Christian launches into a speech about how her sniping at Syed must stop. Zainab tells Christian to leave, but he demands that she open the door when he hears her screaming. Breaking down the door, Christian's shocked to see that she's in labour. Zainab instructs Christian to leave her alone, but Christian refuses.

Masood eventually turns up at the unit and Zainab's not happy that there are so many men standing around her. With time running out, Masood tells Zainab that he'll have to deliver the baby there. Syed goes outside to wait for the
ambulance, while Christian barks commands at Masood from the paramedics on the other end of the phone. The baby boy eventually arrives but it's not breathing. Christian's shouting instructions from the medical experts, in the hope that Masood can revive his newborn son. After a few tense moments, the new Masood eventually lets out his first scream. Amira turns up and as Christian leaves the happy family unit behind, the Masoods name their new baby Kamil.

Later, talk between Syed and Amira turns to having a baby of their own and as Amira realises that she's forgotten to take her pill, she slopes off to the kitchen. Unbeknown to her, though, Syed follows and is confused to see her taking a pill…

Meanwhile, Dotty's mother Sandy arrives at Dot's house but doesn't know yet that her daughter lives there. Dressed in normal clothes, Dotty finally meets her mother and the pair embrace. Sandy reveals to Kirsty that she wants her to return home with her. With that, an emotional Dot finds herself saying goodbye to her own granddaughter.

Elsewhere, Ian grounds Lucy; Ronnie packs her bags in preparation to move out of The Vic; Shirley visits Mr Alcock - the headmaster of Walford High - to talk about Zsa Zsa securing a place there; Jack accuses Ronnie of abandoning her family, before branding her damaged goods; and Shirley's unhappy with Mr Alcock's treatment of her, prompting Phil to sort the problem.

Lucas sees Jordan digging at Trina's tree

Airs on Wednesday, February 24 2010 at 19:30 GMT on BBC One

Syed prepares a banner for Zainab's return from the hospital with baby Kamil. He's furious with Amira, though, for taking the pill behind his back when they were supposed to be trying for a baby of their own. Amira, however, hits back that the idea of a child was Zainab's, not theirs - she doesn't yet feel ready to bring a new life into the world. Syed sees her reluctance as a sign that she doesn't want to be with him. Syed goes on to explain that he doesn't think he can be married to somebody he doesn't trust. Upset, Amira runs out of the room while Syed's left feeling shameful at his actions. An exhausted Zainab tells Masood that she's drained but she's forced to put on a false face when she returns to the Square and the locals are outside of their house to welcome baby Kamil home.

Jane and Ian turn up at the party and Zainab makes a point of announcing that Syed and Amira are trying for a baby of their own. Jane looks on in frustration. Later, Syed's forced to apologise to Amira for his outburst earlier in the day and with that, he agrees that they should wait until they're ready to start a family together. With the party under way, Masood's line manager from Royal Mail, David, turns up with a colleague and announces that they must search the house as there's been an allegation of stolen post.

Meanwhile, Jordan's playing with Sugar when she begins sniffing around Trina's tree again. Jordan's excited by the prospect of buried treasure but when Lucas overhears his son's plan to dig it up, he sternly tells him to leave the tree alone. Later, Lucas spots Jordan digging around the soil at the foot of Trina's tree and demands that he stop immediately. Jordan's upset by his father's rage and begins to cry. Apologising, Jordan agrees to keep Sugar away from the tree. As Jordan walks away with Sugar, dark thoughts begin to cross Lucas's mind…

Elsewhere, Billie and Whitney fool around with each other on the sofa; Lucy tells Jane that if she has to live by Ian's rules, then she's moving out; Billie reminds Whitney that they're not related, so aren't doing anything wrong; Ian's furious to discover that Lucy skipped school; with Pat away for the weekend, Billie suggests that he stay at the house and nobody will interrupt them; collecting Billie's belongings from his mum's flat on the council estate, Billie and Whitney are stopped in their tracks by a young girl called Kylie; and Jane tells Lucy that she thinks she should go on the pill.

Amira makes a decision about her future with Syed

Airs on Thursday, February 25 2010 at 20:00 GMT on BBC One

Masood's line manager David searches the house and finds a parcel for Max but Masood insists that he was planning on delivering it later that day. With that, David suggests that Masood drop by the office for a proper chat. Later, a horrified Amira watches Zainab breastfeeding baby Kamil. Taking Kamil in the kitchen to wind him, Amira has no idea what she's doing. Zainab's attention immediately turns to the missing post situation and she comments that everyone will be gossiping about them. Masood, however, isn't happy at Zainab's insinuation that he's guilty. In the kitchen, Amira's freaked out by baby Kamil who's been sick over her shoulder, while the arrival of an expensive pushchair purchased by Masood causes Zainab's to question its origin.

Returning from his meeting with David, Masood reveals that he's been given a caution for not delivering Max's parcel. Zainab's mind, however, is firmly on where he found the money to buy the pushchair. Backed into a corner, Masood's forced to admit that he won the cash by gambling at Ricky's stag night. Zainab's horrified by his admission and reminds him that gambling is prohibited by Islam. Syed and Tamwar, meanwhile, listen to the argument and are surprised to hear that their father's been gambling again. Amira attempts to calm Zainab down, while Zainab takes the opportunity to reaffirm how special the mother-child bond is.

Later that evening, Syed returns to the house and Amira forces him to promise that they'll always be honest with each other, through fear of ending up like his parents. Throwing her pills away, Amira explains how being with baby Kamil all day has made her broody. Syed's delighted, but Amira's far from content. During an argument with Masood, Syed interjects and insists that she's being unfair to his father. Zainab, however, snaps and reveals that it was Masood's gambling that resulted in them losing their savings and flat all those years ago. Syed's shocked as he thought it was all his fault. Masood's ashamed and tries to hug his wife. Later, Zainab's sorting the sofa for Masood to sleep on, while Tamwar searches for the TV remote.

Tamwar gets more than he bargained for, though, when he pulls a letter addressed to Dot Branning from under one of the cushions…

Elsewhere, Syed tells Christian that things between him and Amira have never been better; Lucas takes Sugar for a walk by the lake and when he returns, claims that Sugar ran away; Whitney lies to Billie that she's not well; Jordan says a prayer for Sugar in the hope that she'll return; Zsa Zsa steals money from the till in the café but Whitney keeps quiet, and Billie wanders into the café in search of Whitney but Whitney hides, which Zsa Zsa's intrigued by.

Lucas is shocked to open the door and see Liz standing before him with a suitcase by her side; Whitney discovers that Billie's been talking to Kylie and runs off crying; Jane books Lucy an appointment at the doctors; Billie's deception causes Whitney to be reminded of Tony's lies and deceit; Lucy returns from the doctors and runs upstairs when Ian asks how her appointment went; and Billie tries to apologise to Whitney by painting her a huge mural down Turpin Road.

It's realistic that she's back to search for her son, though. Nobody has mentioned (except for a brief comment from Libby) that Owen has disappeared off the face of the earth. Hopefully, Liz won't be around for long this time.

WHILE the residents of Albert Square mourn Bradley's dramatic death, Stacey remains eerily calm.
But as the reality of her loss finally hits home, the grieving widow flees.

With plans for Bradley's funeral already underway, will Stacey miss her chance to say a final farewell to him?

As the week begins, Stacey is in shock after Bradley's sudden death. She refuses to take off her wedding dress or leave her bedroom.

Anxious Charlie and Jean try to coax her out, but when that fails, Becca suggests they break down the door.

Concerned for her state of mind, Charlie ends up forcing the door - only to find Stacey looking surprisingly composed and ready to face the world.

She announces that she wants to go to the hospital, so she can say a proper goodbye to Bradley.

As fragile Stacey sits alone outside the chapel of rest, she watches a video of her wedding on her camera.

Then, as Stacey looks back at her dead husband's body, it sinks in that Bradley really is gone - and she races out of the hospital in tears.

It's not long before Jean, Becca and Charlie realise that Stacey has vanished.

As the days pass, with no word from Stacey, her family are beside themselves and report her disappearance to the police.

But Becca comes up with a plan to get Stacey to come home, and places an advert in the Gazette, announcing details of Bradley's funeral.

Becca is hopeful her pal will see the notice and turn up to the service. But can Stacey face life in the Square without Bradley?

Departing EastEnders boss Diederick Santer has promised that Stacey Branning's murderous secret will remain an "active" storyline over the next few weeks.

In Friday night's live episode, Stacey was seen telling former lover Max (Jake Wood) that she killed Archie Mitchell on Christmas Day. She revealed her guilt after seeing husband Bradley (Charlie Clements) fall to his death from the roof of the Queen Vic while he was running from police who believed he was the culprit.

Lacey Turner, who plays the troubled character, was only informed of her alter ego's crime minutes before the 25th anniversary instalment went on air last week. Episodes which will be transmitted over the coming days were all filmed well before Stacey's live confession.

Explaining how the forthcoming editions will work in a BBC blog post, Santer confirmed: "Monday's episode picks up with Stacey and Max both distraught at the loss of Bradley, and to some extent blaming themselves for what's happened.

"But the audience now know something more than the actors did when playing those scenes - that Stacey is the killer and Max knows it. Here's where it gets tricky!

"With the greatest respect to those two brilliant actors, their sadness and guilt plays both ways. Upset at their loss and at encouraging Bradley to run, or upset at their loss and the fact that Stacey's actions may have led to it - these two sets of feelings and emotions more or less look the same."

He continued: "With Stacey and Max, it's all helped by the fact that Stacey mysteriously disappears quite soon too.

"We won't be filming new scenes [today] - although we are doing some sound editing - but we will be dropping some quickly shot material in before too long. So I can assure viewers that the story doesn't become conveniently forgotten about, but rather stays active."

Stacey's confession was watched by 16.6m viewers on Friday night.
