    Celebrity Big Brother 2011

Producers of Celebrity Big Brother vowed last night to make a new series after this year's show won a dramatic increase in viewers.

Alex Reid's victory was watched by 4.4million - nearly a million more than when Ulrika Jonsson won last year. The production company Endemol need a new home for the show after C4 refused to commission a fresh series.

But Five's controller Richard Woolf confirmed he is interested. Endemol's Charlie Gardener said: "We firmly believe this show has a future."

VANESSA Feltz must be a sucker for punishment - because she's going back on Big Brother.

Vanessa, 48, had a meltdown on the first Celeb BB in 2001 when she scrawled nonsense on the dining table. But the show's bosses are letting her back in to ensure the series "ends with a bang".

She is set to return for the Ultimate Housemate, along with other former BB oddballs desperate to boost their bank balances.

They include Coolio, Preston, Nadia Almada, Brian Dowling, Makosi Musambasi and "Nasty" Nick Bateman, plus other faces from past shows.

The winner of this year's BB will also be chucked in for the final flurry with the last one left named Ultimate Housemate.

A show source said: "We want the final couple of weeks to be memorable TV and also a celebration of some of the show's biggest characters.

"You don't get more memorable than Vanessa Feltz - her on-screen meltdown was TV gold."

Vanessa still calls herself a BB fan despite her ordeal, which saw her crack up after just days in the house.

Eventual winner Jack Dee summed it up when he said: "Vanessa's completely lost it."

After she was evicted Vanessa said: "I think reality TV programmes do a lot of damage.

"Nothing prepares you for scrutiny and incarceration and worrying what people might think of you."

Celebrity Big Brother will return to TV on Thursday, August 18 at 9pm on Channel 5.

The reality show, which was dropped by Channel 4 last year, will return with a star-studded lineup on its new home.

Airing for one-and-a-half hours, the launch night will feature Brian Dowling introducing a selection of famous housemates, who will be spending the next month living together in the famous Big Brother compound.

Emma Willis's all-new spinoff show Bit On The Side will follow immediately after at 10.30pm and will air for an hour.

The first highlights show will air on Friday, August 19 for one hour. After an episode of Gavin Henson's new reality series The Bachelor, the second episode of Bit On The Side will follow at 11.05pm.

OK!TV will have a 'When Bruv Takes Over' special on Channel 5 at 6.25pm on Wednesday, August 17.

Pamela Anderson, Crystal Harris, Jedward, Amy Childs, Steve Strange and Kerry Katona are among the celebrities to be taking part.

Jenny Frost and Jeff Brazier have landed jobs at OK!TV fronting the Big Brother coverage for the magazine show.

Brazier - who has two children with the late Big Brother star Jade Goody - and ex-Atomic Kitten singer Frost will host regular slots on the teatime Channel 5 series, updating viewers on the latest developments from the Big Brother house.

It is not clear whether the pair will be presenting the whole show instead of Kate Walsh and Matt Johnson, or if it will just be a segment.

"I can't wait to present OK!TV. What a dream job!" Frost told the Daily Star.

Brazier and Frost will begin their stint on Monday, ahead of the Celebrity Big Brother launch on Thursday, August 18.

Brian Dowling and Emma Willis are the news hosts of the revamped Big Brother and spinoff series Bit On The Side.

Channel 5 has unveiled the first images of the brand new Big Brother house ahead of the show's launch on August 18.

Located at Elstree Studios, the house is bigger than ever and includes a curved disco-inspired illuminated staircase, as well as an alfresco dining area in the huge garden, which houses the longest swimming pool in the show's history.

The open plan house sees the staircase leading to the colourful lounge, with a modern kitchen which looks directly opposite the bathroom. The bedroom includes one large double bed.

The house also includes a sauna room for the first time. Elsewhere, the housemates can use a gym including treadmills, step-machines and other luxuries.

Celebrity Big Brother will begin Thursday, August 18 at 9pm on Channel 5, while a regular series of Big Brother starts later in the year.

American Pie actress Tara Reid is the latest star to be tipped as a Celebrity Big Brother housemate.
