Greatest Songs of the Noughties - Channel 4

Like the TV show list, Channel 4 carried out a survey with the general public via YouGov on the best songs of the noughties. Here is the list:

Well I think the top twenty song list is more credible than the top twenty TV shows of the noughties.

The only two songs I disagree with on the songs list is 'Ruby' by Kaiser Chiefs - an awful song that gets annoying. 'I Predict a Riot' should have been there instead.

And 'Crazy' by Gnarls Barkley for the same reason.

I think the Number 1 is perfect.

Actually, I think Viva La Vida should have been replaced with 'Yellow' as I think that's the best song Coldplay have ever done. It would have been nice to have seen them further up the list.

I love most of the song's on the list, but have to agree with Kath, Scientist and Yellow are amazing songs by coldplay

Snow Patrol's track 'Chasing Cars' has been named as the most played song in Britain over the last ten years.

The single, taken from the group's fourth album Eyes Open, only managed to climb to number six in the UK chart, but has gone on to receieve blanket airplay across radio, TV and the internet since its release.

Take That came second with their hit single 'Shine', while Scissor Sisters' 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' finished third in the survey, compiled by music licensing body PPL. The Feeling's 'Love It When You Call' and the Sugababes' 'About You Now' completed the top five.

Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody said of the track's popularity: "I think that the song has worked because it has an emotion that people can relate to."

A deserving winner, though I do prefer other songs by them. Eyes Open is a really good album though..

Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian have been named as the best-selling musicians in the Australian charts over the past ten years.

Goodrem claimed the country's biggest-selling album with the success of Innocent Eyes, while Sebastian's 'Angels Brought Me Here' was named the most popular single.

The former Neighbours actress told The Daily Telegraph: "I think it was the innocence of the record and the honesty of the songs that people related to. So now there's some pressure on me for the next decade, right?"

Ex-Australian Idol champion Sebastian added: "Whenever 'Angels' comes on, I can't help but feel a little dizzy. It definitely takes me back to my time on Idol, which still today is a big blur in my mind."

Also included in the list were Anthony Callea, Norah Jones, Pink, Eminem, Missy Higgins, Pete Murray and Dido.
