I'm doing the Manchester Half Marathon tomorrow after a very strange week.

What a city I live in!

My new anti sad tablets have a biblical side effect, I drop flunkies that could sheer a sheep, I mean seriously if I impart my lower end breath I run away from it, no olfactory system is set up to deal with that level of stench. You think Im joking.. let one loose in the garden earlier and three pigeons fell from a tree.

Major falling out with my mum last night over my new relationship because she acts like I'm 5 not 25. She said some pretty hurtful things, not sure how we're going to get past it.

I am sure your mum reacted the way she did because she loves you and wants what is best for you. She might see something in your partner that you don´t... the saying goes that Love Makes Blind and I can speak from experience that it does at times.
In an argument we all can say things to somebody else that are very hurtful but they are not meant to, sometimes people don´t find the right words and say things in the heat of the moment that they regret as soon as they said the words.
If you find it difficult to speak to your mum face to face, maybe write her a letter, explaining how you feel about your partner and your current relationship with your mum. Do it when you feel reasonably calm and not too upset. Leave the letter for her when she has some time to read it and digest the contents. That way she will have time to think about your side of things. It is important to keep the channels of communication open and that way you will be able to sort things out. I am sure you can overcome this and that you will be able to be best friends again.

My mother thinks noone is good enough for her sons. Its been an on going thing. However if your mother has never made an issue before of your relationships I would listen even if its hard to. Partners come and go but family remain.
