People will take just about anything if it's free, and it's worth the effort to keep things out of landfill. I've even given away old broken electrical garden tools and furniture in need of serious repair!
Good luck with everything and somebody´s rubbish is somebody´s treasure, I believe

    Thank you.

Yes, it's been quite eye opening to see what other people feel is worth having if they don't have to fork out for it!

Oh, I have experienced that too, even collecting something for free which is in an excellent condition can be too much for some but I hope that what you treasured especially will have gone to a good home where it will also be appreciated

Most people are exceedingly appreciative at being given something for free - even if they're going to have to clean it up and repair it. It gives me a bit of a warm glow knowing my unwanted stuff is being used rather than ending up at the tip.

Im downsizing my offces in the borough i whistleblew in. I have lost 3 contracts totalling about 500k because of my whistleblowing. So my team is reducing in size dramatically but i have managed to transfer them over to new contractors. So no redundancies thank goodness. Anyway means i have to clear 22 years of stuff as thats how long i have worked there. So very similar as i am giving loads of stuff away to charities for free. Hopefully it will be gone in another week. A very difficult time for me and things have been very bad since Dec. one daughter quit teaching in her newly qualified teacher post. She was put under too much pressure. my other daughter got depression and now is taking a year out from Uni. Thanks Dazzle for all your support during the last months.

You're welcome. I had hoped things were a little better for you now but didn't like to ask. At least it must have been a big weight off your mind not to have had to make anyone redundant.

My downsizing is a lot less daunting than what you're having to do. Good luck with the rest of it.

The worse bit has been is that the NHS person i whistleblew against got someone to put a whistleblowing complaint against me and my organisation with false allegations in Dec. Thats how i lost one contract as it was a timely complaint during a tender process so i would not get a key cntract renewed. Now lots of people looking stupid as they realise it is revenge for my whistleblowing 2 years ago as that person who put a complaint against me has a job with the person i put a complaint in about. Happy days
