Freezing sea sounds pretty good to me at the moment Splashy. I promise never to moan about snow or frosts again. Electric fans are a help, but as soon as you cool down, turn 'em off , your bodies temperature control kicks in then you feel even hotter.

Been laughing at my sister who is currently getting drenched at Bestival, she sent me pic and she looks more than slightly damp

At about 11 ish last night the toaster tripped the fuse and all lights went out I had no fuse, no matches no torch and didnt really know where the fuse box was

Thank goodness my magnifier has a light in it, it took me ten minutes of messing about but on came the lights again.

Spoke to my new neighbour today, shame it was to ask him not to smoke two foot away from my wide open bedroom window.. He seemed to take it ok but we will see. I had to say something as I was choking on his smoke and my bedroom still stinks of it.

Too darn hot for me today, sort sanctuary in Waitroise for an hour gluggling down a free cup of brown.

Had engineers in for my TV Ariel , both lovely fellas, one sadly chatted to me about having to go to the mainland each week for the hospital as he has cancer. Hard to know what to say, but he hails from Shirley like me so we chatted on. His son lives a stones throw from my Soton flat.

Started a new job five weeks ago. It’s with the NHS. So exhausting but happy for once. My husband starting dialysis soon so i have been getting trained as his carer. At one point they said that we needed to get rid of our pet cat as it puts him at risk of infection. I am going to keep one room a cat free zone so should be ok. The consultant does not get the fact that pets are like family. I don’t know how i am going to cope with this night time dialysis 7 days a week for the rest of his life. His heart is too weak for a transplant. I have applied for a stairlift but think i will just make a bathroom/toilet downstairs.

Its Cowes week and its insane here ... had relatives over, took the river taxi to the Folly Inn last night and spent today in West Cowes watching the yacht races right by the Royal Sailing Club with the cannons starting the race. Had to chuckle coming home, the Cowes Chain Ferry has broken down again, right on the busiest week of the islands life. The queue for the replacement boat was huge when I came across... Its a shame, they paid a million quid for this thing and it just isnt fit for purpose, yesterday it wasn't working because it ran aground.

Really enjoying the cooler heat, time to start engageing my bus pass and see the rest of the island.
