After shopping for the usual groceries at Sainsbury's I decided to buy a new lawn trimmer from Robert Dyas, got it home, fitted it together and then ventured outside to do my front lawn it had only been going so well until 2 minutes later when things came to an abrupt halt, the spool had broken off, leaving the trimmer chord ravelled up around the base. Rang Robert Dyas and told them what happend, they will replace the faulty one for me. Thank goodness it didn't cost too much.

Annoying when this happens but everything can fail, humans and technology. At least you get it replaced free of charge, hopefully the new one will not break down again

Forgot to mention I had an eye test at a well known opticians this morning, talk about service with a smurk ( plus miserable work attitude) and a voice that might as well have belonged to Lurch's niece, I was not impressed. I have worked in Customer service for 16 years and would never present myself like she did. I complained to the manager who I hope will get some well needed training done. I need to have new lenses for my reading glasses, cost not very expensive ( which was good). Now watching tv.

Britain is not known for good customer care unfortunately. I mean who employed this person!

exactly!! well said swmc66, the girl didn't smile or greet me in a kind way, she looked about 16, wonder how she would have re-acted if her fave pop band had turned up??

You should of gone to... oh wait you probably did

The trick is to go to a nice family run place for the test then take the prescription to the cheepo other places. .. the family run place still gets their cut from doing the test. Mind you I just went with the friendly place I went to, paid more for the bins but they were exactly what I needed.

but then I am an opticians wet dream, please excuse the term, but none of them have ever seen someone with Bests.. even the proff at the eye hospital has only ever seen 3 with it and thats my fsmily.

Today I have mostly been puling my hair out trying to coordinate fools...renting out my flat is becoming insane, no one listens or reads emails, they just seem to bubble along like deranged antelopes.

I always go to a family run one for years. They were so good with my kids who all wore glasses in their teens.
