DS:
Ex-EastEnder Jack Ryder is joining the cast of Family Affairs.
He will play the part of a new uniformed policeman, Nathan, who will arrive in Charnham with his wife, Eve.
It has not yet been confirmed who will be acting alongside him, but DS can reveal that they will both be the 'first in a line of several new castings'.
The actor is set to start filming in August, with early indications pointing to an October screening.
A spokeswoman for the soap told DS: "Nathan and his wife will explode onto our screens in an exciting storyline involving house gazumping."
She added: "They will experience dramas both domestically and professionally."
Jack Ryder played Jamie Mitchell in EastEnders until Christmas 2002 when his character was killed off in a tragic car crash.
His wife, Kym Marsh, recently landed a role in the BBC daytime drama Doctors.
Yeah, I read this in The Sun today. I hope he attracts some new audiences to Family Affairs.
Ithink it would be great - attract more publicity for Family affairs anyway.
Yay Jamie Mitchell lives!! I did wonder what had happened to Jack. His wife Kym Marsh's already landed a role in Doctors, so good luck to them both. It just goes to show that they're not just pretty faces who disappear out of the limelight forever, never to be seen again. Can't wait till October when his character policeman Nathan arrives. I still think he looks too young to be married in real life as well as on-screen, but there we go.Originally Posted by prettypayal

it's family affairs so probably not
underated soap... it should be on primetime where it belongs!
