    Trinitys Interview

    1. What made you join SoapBoards and how has your time on here changed over the years?

I joined when the BBC boards were closed - right at the start of SB.

I do dip in and out, and come on more when my husband is away on business

    2. What are your Hobbies and how did you get into them?

    Cooking, cycling, swimming, reading, painting

    3. Do you have any special talent or ability?
    I can lipread?

    4. Do you have a favourite quote from literature, TV, a famous person, etc.? Explain why it is your favourite.

If I have seen a little further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants. (Issac Newton)

People today really do not realise how much of our daily life is improved due the work of scientists and engineers from long ago

    5. What do you consider your best physical feature and your best aspect of your personality?

My baby blues, and my tolerance.

    6. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My hearing - I am 80% deaf (but it has never stopped me doing anything!)

    7. Do you have a life philosophy? Is so, what is it?

    Live and let live

    8. What are the happiest and Saddest moments of your life?

Wedding day, birth of my children are happiest.

Death of my Nenny (Granny) when I was expecting my second son was definitely the saddest.

    9. What’s the craziest thing you've ever done?

The Sky ride at the Ratho Rock Climbing place - I am terrified of heights

    10. Do you have any regrets, if yes, what and why?

No - what is the point, it won't change anything.

    11. who’s your Idol and why?

I do not have an idol, I do admire the sufferagettes and people who have fought for equality.

    12. If were an animal what would you be and why?

A red squirrel. I would love to be able to leap from tree to tree, and people like them better than the grey ones.

A house. To keep my family warm and safe.

    14. What quality do you like best in a person and what quality do you hate the most?

    1. What is your favourite season and why?

Spring. Lengthening days, silvery sunshine and spring flowers. Time of hope and renewal - plus it doesn't rain quite as much in the spring in Scotland!

    2. Early bird or night owl?

Early bird, definitely, I wake up at 6 ish every morning and I hardly ever make it past 11pm

    3. What is your hair colour and the colour of your eyes?

My hair is goldeny brown (at the moment!) eyes are blue. I haven't seen my natural hair colour for quite some time, but I assume I am grey!

    1) where did the name Trinity come from?

The Matrix - I am a big fan!

    2) would you change anything about your life so far?

No. I am a product of my experience.

    3) What is your favourite program on TV (past or present)

That is a hard one! I love Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, Charmed, Friends. I miss them all and still watch the Charmed reruns even though I must have seen every episode several times.

4)Who is the love of your life?

My husband. We have been together for 22 years and I have never regreted a minute of our time together.
    5) You are stranded on a desert island what would you bring in each category

    a)person

    My husband
    b)CD

    Something by Jamie Cullum
c)one item you can't be without

    My iphone!

    1) You've recently returned to studying. Can I ask what made you decided to become a student again and what changes do you notice since the last time you were a student?

Students are much less respectful of their lecturers. That is not necessarily a bad thing, though, students are now customers rather than just an irritation.

    2) Have you told anyone on SB what Norman Bates really looks like after the Soapboards meeting in Livingston?

No. A secret we should all take to the grave - unless he wants to publish a photo where he isn't wearing a motorcycle helmet?

    3) What would be your dream job/career?

I love what I do! If I wasn't in research management I think that I would like to have done something arty - I love painting.

    4) What did you think of Tony Almenia's return in 24?

I was gutted by the way they made him a bad guy, then a good guy, then a bad guy - I can't even remember where he ended up on the spectrum of badness.

    Submitted Kirsty :]:
    1. What is your favourite film?

    Star Wars

    2. What is the best memory you have from the teens?

Passing my driving test (on my 5th attempt!)

    3. What was the worst?

Getting my higher results - I missed out on a place doing medicine.

4.Have you always known what career you wanted growing up?

No, I think that very few people do end up doing what they thought they would as a child. I have had several distinct 'careers'. What I did at uni has had no effect at all on my career, other than letting me start it, I suppose.

5.What is your favourite kind of food?

Italian - I love tuscan peasant food. Pasta and truffles and wild mushrooms

6.Who is your favourite superhero of all time??

Neo from the Matrix (if this is allowed - otherwise, nah - no such thing!)

    Submitted by Norman Bates:
    1. a/s/l
    44/female/West Lothian, Scotland

    2. What do you think of your English neighbours?

I think of all my neighbours in the same way. Where you are born, live etc means nothing. All that matters ion an individual basis is how you treat others.

Treat others as you want to be treated yourself is my motto.

    3. Favourite youtube video?

I don't do youtube, but I have seen my son in his band videos.

    4. Are you content in all that you do, or do you believe there is more that you could be doing?

I do what I think is best at the time. There is always more that can be done, but sometimes doing less is more.

    5. Are you for the SNP?
    NO!
    6. Theist, agnostic or atheist?
    Atheist
    7. What motivates you every day?

    Love, friendship, joy.

    8. The most unlady like thing you have done?

    I am not telling you
    9. Do you act your age?

    Sometimes!

    10. How have your priorities changed over the years?

Oh yeah, children do that to you, lol. But also now that my boys are older and I have more time for myself I can see that I want to spend more time doing what I want rather than what I think I OUGHT to do.

    What are you afraid of?

Spiders! We have huge ones here, much bigger than any house spider I have seen in any other place I have live ( and I have lived in A LOT of houses).

I am also afraid of heights, but I am really working on that. I am very proud to say that I climbed to the top of York Minster a few weeks ago without throwing a wobbly.

    Whats your biggest regret?

Je ne regrette rien. Regret is a waste of energy, if you do anything that hurts someone else, apologise and don't do it again.

    When did you last cry?

A gosh, I cry ALL THE TIME at movies, books, the news - I am a total softy.

    Who is your inspiration?

This is similar to an earlier question and quite a tough one.

I am inspired by art, and by talent and intelligence. I am inspired by people who do all they can, who make the most of what they have and who treat people who do not have as much as them with merit.

Leonard Da Vinci was an amazing man, artist, scientist and inventor - I don't know how he treated people, though. The Mono Lisa didn't look too happy.

I didn't really answer Kath's question re. Why I have gone back to studying after all these years. I guess part of it was watching my eldest trying to choose what he wants to do at Uni, I decided that I should concentrate on what I want to do myself, rather than to try to live my life through him. It is hard seeing him make the same mistakes I did at his age, but he has to live his own life- and so do I. There are loads of opportunities out there!

Thanks for the answers Trinity. I wouldn't have thought Star Wars was your fav movie, nor that you'd be an iPhone addict.

Star Wars is an epic, quasi reliegious experience - full of hope and emotion. The other films in the first trilogy were also good, but the last three were dross.

I love my iPhone - I am on it now!
