Contrary to expectations Variety reported yesterday that ER producer John Wells is hoping to start negotiations soon with NBC about giving ER one more season to tie up loose ends!

Apparently they are not starting from the beginning! Only 45 episodes have been bought so far but it's going to be shown in the 2.35pm slot starting on the 16th July.

It's an hour long show but I presume it can be edited to fit the Neighbours slot much like the Bill which is shown as a half hour show here on Irish TV.
