Fresh off their successes in Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities and popular US drama Grey's Anatomy respectively, former Summer Bay stars Martin Dingle-Wall and Melissa George have signed onto new projects.

Martin has starred in and produced the drama movie The Nothing Men, which revolves around a group of men sitting out their final days at their jobs in a factory. It also stars Colin Friels, with a stranger arriving and changing the group dynamic in brutal ways. The film is due for release later this year.

George has landed a leading role in new US drama Attorney, as an ADA for the Attorney's office in Manhattan, joining Michael Lange as her ex-husband who is also a federal prosecutor for the office.

Home and Away actress Debra Lawrence has admitted that she misses the more family-orientated storylines from the soap's past.

Lawrence, who makes a brief return to Australian screens next week as Pippa Fletcher, told TV Week that things have changed since she was on the show.

"I do get a little bit nostalgic," she said. "I miss the old, simpler and more family-orientated storylines. Things have certainly changed since I started back in the '90s! There's a little bit more violence and there's definitely more alcohol being drunk now than when I was there!"

When asked about the controversy surrounding the current lesbian plot, Lawrence said: "I've been reading that people have had a few issues with the lesbian storyline, but what they forget is that Isla Fisher's character, Shannon, left the show with another woman.

"We did this 12 years ago - it's already been done. It's probably just a case of a new generation of parents coming through, I guess."

While viewers most likely will be jumping in their seats, watching scary scenes; Home & Away graduate, Tammin Sursok, is probably hoping to give her career a jump in the right direction, with her new movie this fall.

Playing the role of Stacey, Tammin can soon be seen in an American horror production titled “Albino Farm”. The movie tells the story of four college students doing research in the Ozark Mountains when they suddenly find themselves accompanied by deformed mutants.

The indie-movie, most likely to be released some time this fall, has scored a DVD deal with MTI Home Video, according to the online edition of horror magazine, Fangoria, www.fangoriaonline.com.

Home and Away star Christie Hayes has said returning to the soap "felt like coming home".

The 22-year-old, who stars as young mother Kirsty Phillips, recently returned to the series after a three year absence.

"It felt like coming home after I had moved out already," Hayes told the Press Association. "Everything changed but was really still the same, it was refreshing and exciting."

Speaking about Kirsty's return to Summer Bay, Hayes added: "Kirsty has definitely grown up even more but her rebellious streak is still intact.

"As a mum, she has become protective of her kids around her, but is still trying to figure herself out."

I have always liked her and think it is great she has come back. :cheer:

Kate Ritchie has refused to confirm or deny reports that she could one day return to Home and Away.

The 30-year-old, who starred as Summer Bay local Sally Fletcher for 20 years before deciding to quit the series in 2007, remained coy about a possible comeback when quizzed by TV Week.

"Oh look, I don't know," she said. "They didn't off her, so I guess it depends if they need a hand running the caravan park.

"She might be back, but not at this stage. She's having too good a time in Thailand, isn't she?"

Recently, Ritchie made a critically acclaimed return to Australian television screens as Judi Kane, the wife of slain 1970s standover Les Kane, in the second series of underworld crime drama Underbelly.

Dannii Minogue has revealed that Home and Away bosses always tried to give British viewers a hit of sunshine during her time on the show.

The actress and talent show judge told The Mail On Sunday that all the girls on the programme had to wear skimpy swimsuits, whatever the weather.

Minogue said: "For a lot of the time we girls had to wear a bikini - even in winter which, though nowhere near as cold as British winters, can still be chilly.

"I remember a few of us asking the producer if we could wear something less revealing, more suitable for the winter. The reply came back from the network: 'It's always summer in Summer Bay.'"

She added: "Apparently the British expect to enjoy summer when they turn on the television to watch the programme, so all the girls had to wear bikinis, even if meant us coming out in goosebumps."

Minogue joined Home and Away as rebellious teenager Emma Jackson in 1988, but only stayed on the show for one year.

Home and Away star Conrad Coley had admitted that he finds it difficult playing a blind character.

The actor, who is due to leave the Australian soap later this year, said that a lot of practice went into his role as the newly blind Roman.

"It's quite difficult because you've got to play it to a camera, so you can't play it as you would in real life, because it doesn't read on the camera - although I did practise being blind," Conrad told the Home and Away website.

"To actually be blind would be horrible. I can't imagine a more terrifying disability. I mean you can't tell the time, you can't read people's faces or expressions, you don't know what sort of day it is," he said. "I really wanted to portray the anxiety that is associated with that."

Home and Away actor Conrad Coleby has revealed that it was not his decision to leave the series.

The 29-year-old, whom it was recently announced would leave the soap after just 15 months on air, will make his final appearance on Australian screens in a few weeks' time.

"Well, it wasn't my decision," Coleby told TV Week. "But I'm happy about it now. I can see why they decided to end the Roman character. He had a finite story arc.

"There was always something about Roman that was a bit dark, so they explored that and unfortunately went too far for him to carry on."

Speaking of his time with the series, Coleby added: "It's been great from day one. It's sad that I won't get to see everybody every day. I'll miss everyone. There's such a nice family vibe on Home and Away."

Coleby is currently dating co-star Esther Anderson, who plays controversial policewoman Charlie Buckton.

Home and Away star Lincoln Lewis has confessed to filming a sex tape with an unidentified Australian television star.

According to the Herald Sun, the 21-year-old son of Australian rugby league legend Wally Lewis is understood to have filmed the sexual encounter on his mobile phone last year with an 18-year-old Australian TV star, before showing it to fellow Home and Away cast members and crew.

"You do stupid things when you are young," Lewis told the Australian media today. "But you learn from your mistakes, that's part of growing up. This mistake, and what I have learnt, will contribute a lot to making me a better person in the future."

Channel Seven, the network which produces and screens Home and Away in Australia, is taking the matter seriously and has disciplined the actor, urging him to undergo counselling.

"As soon as Channel Seven was made aware of these allegations we needed to urgently clarify fact from fiction," Channel Seven programming director Tim Worner said. "Lincoln is a young man of tremendous character. He acknowledges and can accept and take responsibility when he has made a mistake and regrets the event which transpired over a year ago."

Earlier today, Lewis's mother Jacqui appeared on Australian radio station Nova and verbally attacked her son's accomplice in the scandalous film clip.

"I am glad he is not with that girl any more, I don't want that as a daughter-in-law," Ms Lewis said. "She must have said she was willing to do it. It takes two to tango, doesn't it?

"As a female, I wouldn't be doing any of that - we keep things. Have a look at Monica Lewinsky with Bill Clinton - she kept the dress.

"It's on his phone but she allowed it."

Lewis, who won a Logie award last year for best new male talent, was yesterday announced as one of the cast members for the new series of the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars.

He's an idiot. It's up to him what he does in his personal life but there's no excuse for showing it to other people.

I think counselling is a bit extreme. Lots of people film themselves having sex, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with him. He just needs to learn some control when it comes to showing people.

HOME And Away star Jodi Gordon was found cowering in the bedroom of a suspected bikie after reports gunmen were trying to break in.

The bizarre episode came days after she was reported missing and ended with police rushing to a unit in an exclusive Sydney suburb.

The Logie winner was interviewed but not charged over the incident after she was found cowering in the unit's bedroom.

Gordon, 24, who is in a relationship with Channel 7 heir Ryan Stokes, had been reported missing from Kings Cross a few days before.

Police were called to an apartment in Bellevue Hill about 5.30pm on Wednesday, after the unit's resident reported that five men - at least two of them with guns - were in his backyard and trying to scale his balcony.

The report sparked a massive police response in the wake of recent Sydney bikie violence.

Armed police responded in force, wearing bullet-proof vests, cordoning off the area while a search was launched.

Gordon and the male resident, 29, were found hiding in a bedroom.

She told police she had seen the gunmen on CCTV on the cameras that surround the unit.

However, when police viewed the CCTV, they found no sign that the incident had occurred at all.

They could only see the male resident in the backyard and no-one else.

The man declined to be interviewed but the popular TV star agreed to accompany police to a police station, where she allegedly disclosed that cocaine had been consumed that day.

When confronted with CCTV proof that nothing had occurred, the man allegedly conceded he could have been hallucinating and said he had also consumed the sleeping tablet Stilnox.

The search was called off after more than an hour, but it is believed Gordon and the man won't face public mischief charges.

Seven's director of programming and production, Tim Worner, said last night: "We have spoken with Jodi. At this point, our main concern is for her safety and health, and she is resting with family.
"It's a measure of her character that she today honoured her commitment to the Sydney Children's Hospital.

"We will make sure that Jodi gets whatever support and understanding she needs at this time."

The Herald Sun believes Gordon, who was also a contestant on Dancing With The Stars, was reported missing from the Kings Cross area a couple of days earlier.

Det-Insp John Maricic said he could confirm only that police dismissed the possibility that armed gunmen tried to break into the apartment.

"Police responded to reports of an incident. Subsequent enquiries revealed no such incident took place," he said.

Gordon, who lives with Mr Stokes in a harbourfront development at Dawes Point, could not be reached for comment last night. Earlier, she attended a lunch event at Hugos at Manly.

Her father, Ray Gordon, said he received a call from

Kings Cross police on Wednesday to say that Ryan Stokes had reported Jodi missing after a night out with friends.

He said he and his wife, Bronwyn, rushed to the city to begin searching for her. On the way, they received a call from Rose Bay police telling them she had been found.

"She didn't say much to me. She just said she couldn't say anything more because of what was going on with the police.

"Then she left to go back to Ryan's place."

Mr Gordon said he knew nothing about any suggestion of drug use or Jodi's involvement with any members of a motorcycle gang.

"I can't believe that she would ever get into drugs. I know my girl. She's travelled the world since she was 13 years old - on her own for half of it.

"We've talked about all of this, about drugs, and I just know that she's never been into them."

He said Jodi moved out of the family home at Castle Hill a couple of years ago to live with Mr Stokes.

"I want to go and see her as soon as possible," Mr Gordon said.

The mother of soap opera star Lincoln Lewis has attacked the mystery woman involved in a sex tape her son filmed on his mobile phone, even comparing her with Bill Clinton's ex-lover Monica Lewinski.

Jacqui Lewis told Nova's Ryan, Monty and Wippa that she thought her son had been involved in an accident after failing to meet up with her during a trip to Melbourne for the State of Origin game and was initially "relieved" when she learned about the sex film.

Her relief quickly turned to anger as the Home and Away hunk told of making the recording and showing it to others on the set.

"I did tell him, 'how many times I have told you that things will come back and bite you if you do the wrong thing?'" she said.

But Ms Lewis quickly rounded on the then-18-year-old starlet involved in the scandal.

"I am glad he is not with that girl any more, I don't want that as a daughter-in-law," she said.

"It takes two to tango, doesn't it?

"She must have said she was willing to do it, it's on his phone but she allowed it.

"As a female, I wouldn't be doing any of that – we keep things.

"Have a look at Monica Lewinski with Bill Clinton: she kept the dress."

Ms Lewis also revealed that her husband and Lincoln's father, rugby league legend Wally Lewis, thought "it is no one's business".

"Wally's got to remember, as I've always told him, everything you do when you're in the public eye belongs to the people," she said.

Ms Lewis also revealed that the clip had been deleted from her son's mobile phone and she understood the footage had not been distributed.

A Facebook page claiming to be that of Lincoln Lewis lists him as being "in an open relationship".

Home and Away stalwart Lynne McGranger has admitted that filming her current storyline was a gruelling experience.

The actress, 56, said that shooting Irene's prison ordeal often left her with headaches at the end of the day.

"When we filmed it, I had literally just stepped off the plane from England. I'd been over doing pantomime so I came back to work with a thud. It was more gruelling than hard and I do remember going home with headaches at the end of the day, particularly after a lot of the prison stuff," she told the Home and Away website.

"[I've] never been an alcoholic nor ever shot a policeman so when you get those sort of storylines, all you can do is use your intuition and observations in life."

Asked about what she'd like to see in Irene's future should she be released from prison, McGranger replied: "I'd like to see her get married. She's never walked down the damn aisle! With Ken, a car fell on him; with Barry, he went to prison and then Paris - they always get so close and then it all just goes. And then of course Lou - oh my gawd!

"I would actually like to see her wedding day come off but it is Summer Bay and if Irene does get married, chances are she’s not gonna live happily ever after, but I’d just like to get dressed up in a nice dress and be fussed over for a day."

Lincoln Lewis has been unveiled as a contestant on this year's Dancing With The Stars. The Home and Away hunk will team up with dance partner Luda to compete for the glitzy trophy.

A professional actor since the tender age of 13, Lincoln has already starred in two big-budget movies and of course stars as hardworking farm boy Geoff Campbell in Home and Away.

But how will he perform on the dance floor?

In the past Home and Away stars have traditionally done well in the dancing competition, with Bec Hewitt, Ada Nicodemou and last year's winner Luke Jacobz all claiming the top prize.

This year Lincoln faces tough competition against fellow young heartthrob Rob Mills and other Channel 7 stars, Morning Show presenter Kylie Gillies and Today Tonight host Matt White.

In 2008 Lincoln won a Logie for Most Popular New Talent for playing Geoff Campbell so let's hope this year he will score another trophy for his mantle piece.

A Twitter page claiming to belong to former Home and Away star Indiana Evans has been branded a fake.

Evans's manager Danny Zargoridis spoke out after the page began posting comments claiming to be from the actress about the current sex tape scandal surrounding her former co-star and ex-boyfriend Lincoln Lewis.

"She doesn't have a Twitter site or a Facebook page or MySpace page, it was not her," he told Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph.

On Sunday, the Twitter page, which has since been shut down, began posting tweets about the sex tape controversy, with the first saying: "All the Home and Away sex tape stuff affects me too, he is my ex! He didn't do anything wrong guys!"

Another post read: "Everyone should mind their own business. Everyone makes mistakes."

While denying that the page belonged to Evans, Zargoridis refused to comment on speculation that his client is the unidentified TV starlet in the clip, which was filmed on Lewis's phone before being shown to fellow Home and Away cast and crew.

Embattled Home and Away star Jodi Gordon has managed to retain her lucrative sponsorship deals, despite recently being linked to a gangster and cocaine scandal.

The 24-year-old actress, who has made headlines in the Australian tabloids since being found cowering in the bedroom of a notorious bikie gangster and allegedly admitting to taking cocaine, flew from Sydney to Melbourne over the weekend to shoot a new ad campaign for shoe label Tony Bianco, for which she is the ambassador.

"Jodi's ease with the camera really helped us to create some amazing shots and we can't wait to release the Tony Bianco summer campaign in August," label boss Tony Bianco said.

The Courier Mail also reports that her deal with underwear label Crystelle is secure and her contract with Home and Away is safe after she signed a three-year extension with the series last November.

However, media attention has quickly turned to her relationship with boyfriend Ryan Stokes following reports that a removal firm was spotted moving boxes out of the couple's Sydney apartment.

"I'm just not ready to say anything at this time,'' Gordon told Hush. "But thank you for your support - I really appreciate it."

Home and Away star Jessica Tovey has joined other Australian celebrities and politicians in supporting an anti-homophobia campaign.

The 21-year-old, who recently confirmed that she has filmed her final scenes with the Australian soap, has thrown her support behind the 'This Is Oz' campaign, which urges people to "speak up for an inclusive Australia".

"My sister is good friends with the organisers," Tovey told Australian gay publication Blaze. "I'm usually cautious about getting involved with any campaign, but when they told me about this I just thought it was a great idea and so important."

The campaign, which is described as "part art project, part human rights campaign", asks supporters to upload a photo of themselves with a handwritten or printed message to help fight discrimination against Australia's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

"I wanted my message to be celebratory," Tovey added. "I have many gay friends and this is my way of letting them know how much I love them and how important they are in my life."

The father of Home and Away actress Jodi Gordon has verbally attacked his daughter's ex-boyfriend Ryan Stokes following the couple's recent separation.

Speaking to Australia's Sunday Telegraph, Ray Gordon branded Stokes a "wuss" for walking out on his daughter after she was embroiled in a bizarre cocaine and gangster scandal. Gordon also attacked Stokes's privileged upbringing, claiming that Stokes spent his life "living in a bubble".

"I feel like wringing his neck because he didn't look after my girl," he told the newspaper. "If he was a real man, he wouldn't be hiding like he is, he's a wuss."

Earlier this month, after police were called to a Sydney apartment following reports armed gunmen were about to storm the property, the 24-year-old actress was found cowering in the bedroom of a suspected gangster just days after being reported missing by Stokes.

Gordon, who stars as Summer Bay favourite Martha, allegedly later confessed to police that cocaine had been consumed earlier in the day.

When asked how his daughter was coping with the publicity surrounding the scandal and her relationship break-up, Mr Gordon said: "Mate, she's as tough as a pig in s**t."

There have been rumours flying across the web today, following Jackie O stating on her Twitter page that she'd heard H&A star Lincoln Lewis had been axed from the show - a consequence of his recent sex-tape scandal.

BTTB has made enquires with its sources, and we can confirm that the statement is not true.

Whilst its no secret that Lincoln's standard 3 year contract is due to expire early next year, having started with the show in April 2007, the decision as to whether or not Lincoln will carry on in the role has nothing to do with the recent scandal.

If Lincoln, or the show, do choose to say goodbye to Geoff in 2010 - which is a decision which has not even been discussed as yet - then it will just be part of the on-going revolving door with the young actors.

As regards to Jackie O, it seems apparent that she has heard about Lincoln's end-of-contract approaching, and assumed that there was a casual connection between that and the sex-tape scandal. This is not the case.

The fact that Lincoln started filming on another Seven Network show, 'Dancing with the Stars', AFTER the news came out, further disproves the theory. Common sense would state that if Seven were worried in any way about the scandal, then they would choose to drop Lincoln from a show which hadn't even started filming yet as opposed to H&A.

With 'Dancing with the Stars' going to air next week, viewers have nothing to worry about.

Home and Away star Jodi Gordon has regularly paid for strip club dances and is preparing to quit her role on the popular soap, it has been alleged.

The sensational claims, to be published in Australia tomorrow by the magazine Woman's Day, include that the embattled actress paid for private, nude and erotic dances by female dancers in a Sydney strip club, and plans to quit Home and Away to pursue a career overseas.

It is claimed that Gordon was on a first-name basis with many of the strippers at the club and would regularly pay $85 for private erotic dances.

"Jodi is a really friendly girl and got on well with a lot of the girls," an employee of the strip club told the magazine. "She was on first-name terms with some of the dancers and was extra friendly because she was out of it. Jodi once paid for a girl to dance for her for four hours."

The startling accusations come just weeks after Gordon was embroiled in a bizarre cocaine scandal that reportedly ended her relationship to Australian media heir Ryan Stokes.

What is going on with her? She is only so young and the story with her in the hotel room and now hiring strippers for her entertainment are not the stories usually connected with young soap stars.

Embattled Home and Away stars Lincoln Lewis and Jodi Gordon have not been axed from the soap, according to reports.

Last month, doubts were raised about Lewis and Gordon's futures with the Australian series after both were involved in separate scandals that rocked fans and cast a shadow over Home and Away's clean image.

Australian television and radio identity Jackie O sent fans into a state of panic when she posted on her Twitter page: "I'm hearing that Home and Away are dropping Lincoln Lewis after the whole sex tape scandal."

However, a Channel Seven spokesperson has dismissed O's claim to TV Week, saying: "We love Kyle and Jackie O, and they are usually 100 per cent accurate, however, in this case Geoff (Lincoln Lewis) is in his final year at Summer Bay High and is concentrating on passing his exams. After that, he's got to think about the next step. Uni?"

Meanwhile, suggestions that Jodi Gordon was planning on quitting both Home and Away and Australia following a cocaine scandal as well as the revelation that she paid for strippers, have also been denied.

"Jodi is looking forward, not backward, and is hard at work on the set of Home and Away," they added.

Home and Away actress Jodi Gordon yesterday returned to work after a week's holiday in Los Angeles.

The Australian star took the break to escape allegations that she is a strip club regular in Sydney.

The rumours followed news that she had been found by police cowering in the flat of a suspected gangster on June 2. She admitted that drugs had been used and was subsequently dumped by her TV heir boyfriend Ryan Stokes.

Confidential reported that Gordon admitted to Channel Seven bosses that she has been to strip joint Badabing "five or six times" but denied that she frequents the venue.

Gordon is expected to join her fellow cast members on Thursday night to celebrate the soap's 21st birthday. It will be her first public outing since the scandal first surfaced.

The actress was filmed emerging from Sydney Airport but declined to comment to the waiting media.

The actor who claimed that drug abuse was rife among the younger cast members of Home and Away has said that he was "railroaded" into the story.

Bryan Wiseman, who appeared on the soap from 1998 to 2003 as supporting character Dr John Wilson, insisted that he was led to believe he would be one of four actors - including three current stars - to comment on the "culture" of the soap and present a positive warning about drug abuse.

"How on earth can I comment on people I have never met or worked with?" he told The Sydney Morning Herald’s column The Diary. "I was on the show between 1998 and 2003. I don't know the current cast and, of course, they don't know me.

"[The story] makes it look like the present tense."

However, the editor of newspaper The Sunday Telegraph, which initially ran the story, said that Wiseman agreed to pose for a photograph for the article.

"If he was railroaded, why did he pose for a photo for us in northern Queensland?" Neil Breen said.

Wiseman's claims of drug abuse capped off a scandal-filled couple of months for the 21-year-old soap.

Holly Brisley has given birth to her first child and named him Levi Harper Ford.

The Home and Away star, who is married to marketing executive Paul Ford, was said to be "ecstatic" after years of trying to get pregnant.

Brisley told Woman's Day: "After years of trying to have a baby I'm finally a mum, and I am ecstatic. This is my best role ever."

The actress was apparently forced to have a caesarean after doctors said her natural birth plan would not be possible once she had gone into labour.

She added: "The obstetrician told us that the head still hadn't engaged and that a natural birth wasn't looking promising as my hips are quite narrow and he wasn't sure Levi would fit, so he recommended a caesarean. Here I was, wanting a completely natural birth, and I ended up having a caesar with all the drugs.''

Brisley recently returned to the soap to briefly reprise her role as Amanda Vale.

Gordon and Anasta were first romantically linked in November, when Anasta was spotted leaving her apartment. However, they later insisted that they were just "good friends".

Anasta previously dated Neighbours star Erin McNaught, while Gordon was dumped by her long-term boyfriend Ryan Stokes after she was caught up in a drugs scandal earlier this year.

Home and Away writer Sam Meikle has once again emerged victorious from the annual AWGIE awards.

The 43rd annual AWGIE's, held last night in Melbourne, are the Australian Writers Guild's much respected accolades for excellence in screen, television, stage and radio writing. The awards are based solely on the writer's original intentions in the script, as opposed to the final product seen on screen.

The Television Serial award, which H&A has won for the sixth year running, was awarded to Episode 5068 - which saw Miles Copeland say goodbye to the spirit of his dead daughter 'Rabbit'.

Competition was not too fierce for the show however, with H&A receiving three of the four nominations for the category (the other episodes being Episode 4917 and Episode 5003), with a Neighbours episode making up the final entry.

This is the third AWGIE (out of seven nominations for various shows) to be awarded to Sam Meikle, having already won for H&A in 2006 for Episode 4121 (Flynn's Death), and in 2007 for Episode 4212 (Jack & Martha's Wedding aftermath).

Her dad Steven gave her away, and sisters Rebekah and Susan were her bridesmaids.

The actress planned the three-day celebration herself, and was thrilled when the skies cleared, allowing her to have an outdoor ceremony at the Quamby Estate in Tasmania.

The couple said the event was "exactly the day we had hoped and planned for. A celebration of our love and commitment, surrounded by our most dear family and friends. We are so very happy to be husband and wife".

Aww! We bet a few tears were shed.

Bernard Curry has become a father for the first time.

The 36-year-old Australian actor, who is best known for playing Hugo Austin in Home and Away, said that baby son Fox William has brought him and partner Sonya Bohlen much closer together.

Curry told New Idea magazine: "We have been really blessed. Sonya became pregnant pretty much first time, which sometimes makes you feel guilty when you know people who've been trying for years.

"At one stage my mum and dad had five kids under 7 and I don't know how they did it! You're so much in the dark at first and you're so willing to hear other people's parenting tips.

"I guess it's all about staying positive and knowing deep down that you're trying your best. You get very good at doing things with one hand - you just can't clap."

Beau Brady has revealed that Bec Hewitt broke his heart.

The 28-year-old Australian actor, who met and got together with Hewitt when they played Noah Lawson and Hayley Smith respectively in Home and Away, said that he regrets ever asking her to marry him.

Brady told Woman's Day magazine: "I look back at it now and realise proposing to Bec was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. It was just a stupid, young mistake and if I had my time over I would never ever have proposed."

He also revealed that he was heartbroken when Hewitt apparently developed a friendship with now-husband Lleyton Hewitt during their engagement.

He said: "I'm only speculating, but in the end I'm still not really sure why Bec broke it off - maybe it was because I didn't own a Ferrari!"

Home and Away fans may do a double take when they see Summer Bay newcomer Richard Brancatisano... He's been in the show before.

Richard has joined the cast as Italian prince Vittorio Seca, an old flame of Bianca Scott (Lisa Gormley).

But he previously appeared in the soap in 2007 as Theo Barrett, who kidnapped Belle Taylor and held her hostage, and had a small role in Summer Bay in 2002.

Asked if it surprises him that fans still remember him as Theo, Richard told the Home And Away website: "It would normally because Theo and Vittorio are quite different. You'd never catch Vittorio in a Hawaiian shirt!! Jokes aside though, YouTube makes it a lot easier for people to track your work so I guess these days it's less of a surprise."

He added that he feels 'so lucky' to be back on the show.

As Vittorio, he will try and win back Bianca, but will be caught up in a love triangle involving her new love interest Liam Murphy (Axle Whitehead).

Home and Away's series producer Cameron Welsh has predicted that the soap's recent recruit Samara Weaving is destined for "big" things in the acting industry.

Weaving first played Summer Bay's Indigo Walker for a brief stint last year, and she has since been brought back as a regular cast member along with the rest of her screen family.

Following her comeback, many of Indigo's storylines have revolved around her blossoming romance with Romeo Smith, played by Luke Mitchell.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph about the 18-year-old star, Welsh commented: "Sam's genuinely laid-back and funny and all that comes through on screen. Hopefully she'll stick around for a while, but really the sky's the limit for her.

"Obviously she's a rare mix of humility, extraordinary talent and great looks. They don't come along that often. When they have all those things in bucket loads, you know they're special and destined for something big."

Prior to her Home and Away role, Weaving played the part of Kirsten Mulroney on the BBC's Sydney-based soap Out of the Blue.

Home and Away star Lynne McGranger has revealed that she loves the "excitement" of never knowing what is in store for her soap character.

The actress has played the role of Irene Roberts on the Summer Bay show since 1992, making her the programme's second longest-serving cast member after Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart).

Speaking to TV Tonight about her time on the drama, McGranger commented: "Being very pragmatic, I love my job. You couldn't be doing this for 18 years if you didn't love it. You would go stark raving nuts, because it is intense.

"But one of the things that attracts me to it is that every week is completely different. But that doesn't suit a lot of people. Some people like to know what their life holds in store. I quite like the excitement of not knowing whether I'm going to be working next Wednesday night or not."

She continued: "Unlike a play, I'm not doing the same thing day in, day out. I don't have a short-lived life span like a movie. My character has a life that goes on and on. She lives a different life each episode. Of course there was a beginning, and there will be an end, but it's not foreseeable. It goes on and has this lovely life of its own."

The part of Irene was previously portrayed by actress Jacqui Phillips for a year from 1991.

Kate Ritchie's new TV show has been labelled a "dud".

The newly-married Australian actress, who is best known for her role as Sally Fletcher in Home and Away, now plays a police detective in Channel Nine's Cops LAC.

An industry insider told The Daily Telegraph that the series is almost certain to be axed after only 13 episodes after production on a Christmas DVD of the drama was cancelled last week.

The source said: "There was a team working on [the DVD] but they got the call on Thursday to stop immediately - the project was being canned because the show has been such a dud. It hasn't had the ratings to justify the risk of putting it out there in the market."

Another industry spokesperson added: "Kate was by far the best thing about a bad production and she will survive. It's the producers who should take a good hard look at themselves - the scripts were just something else."

Home and Away's Ray Meagher has said that he still loves appearing on the show after 23 years.

The veteran actor, who plays Summer Bay stalwart Alf Stewart, told Inside Soap that despite his current break starring in London's Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical, he still relishes his role in the soap.

Meagher said: "I enjoy it as much as when I started out - in fact, maybe even more so.

"Over the course of 23 years, there've been periods where the show felt like it was on a downward spiral, and some of the storylines were a bit inane.

"But I'd say that for 95% of the time that I've been working there, I've thoroughly enjoyed it."

He added: "I love the show, I love the character, and I'll be quite happy to go home and play him again, but this is a wonderful change of pace for me.

"I never thought in my wildest dreams that I'd do anything in the West End - let alone a musical - so it's a fabulous experience."

Axle Whitehead has started dating his Home and Away co-star Lisa Gormley, according to reports.

The pair - who play on-off lovers Liam Murphy and Bianca Scott on the Summer Bay soap - went public with their real-life romance at the Australian X Factor final on Monday night, The Daily Telegraph claims.

A source told the newspaper: "They looked very, very cosy and were obviously enjoying each other's company at the finale. They have worked with each other this year but what was a friendship has ignited into something else."

Meanwhile, show insiders told the publication that the duo are "very happy" together.

On screen, Liam and Bianca became a couple earlier this year, but matters were complicated when Bianca's ex-boyfriend Vittorio arrived in town and she was forced to choose between them.

Whitehead and Gormley's fellow cast members Luke Mitchell (Romeo Smith) and Rebecca Breeds (Ruby Buckton) are also an item in real life.

Home and Away's Bianca Scott is so glamorous and sophisticated, she has strutting around Summer Bay down to a fine art.

But Lisa Gormley, who plays the feisty "princess", claims she is so clumsy that in reality she leaves a trail of destruction and devastation in her wake.

Lisa told Inside Soap magazine: "Embarrassing things happen to me all the time - I'm so uncoordinated.

"In only my second week of filming, I was sitting on a desk which promptly gave way beneath me.

"The same thing happened last week, and everyone looked at me like 'I can't believe you've done that again.'

"I've sat on suitcases that have disappeared from underneath me, fallen down stairs, you name it."

The 26-year-old blonde also claims to be nowhere near as glamorous as her on-screen character.

She said: "I'm a dag in real life, so to be given beautiful clothes and shoes and get my hair and make-up done is brilliant. Without spray tan, I'm nothing. I'm so white, I'm blue. I'm a road map."

On our screens right now, Ruby Buckton is poised to get a crush on her driving instructor, while Romeo Smith is all loved up with Indigo Walker.

But all that is about to change.

Rebecca Breeds has revealed her character is going to set her sights on the blond hunk.

And as Rebecca and Romeo actor Luke Mitchell are boyfriend and girlfriend in real life, it shouldn't be too much of a stretch to play.

"It's going to be the easiest thing I've ever had to do. There's no acting involved at all," she joked in an interview with Home and Away's Aussie website.

"But he's got a girlfriend so I have to find a way to justify going after someone who has a girlfriend. So that's kind of hard.

"But he's the hero. She believes he's the love of her life. I guess with that in mind you wouldn't let anything get in the way of that. Who knows, he might be?"

She's ever the professional, but in the past Rebecca has confessed she doesn't want Romeo and Ruby to get together on screen, saying she likes having "the separation".

But she added: "It would probably be interesting to watch because we'd have a lot of chemistry. So for you guys it would probably be awesome but for Luke and me, to leave things less complicated than they need to be, I'd probably prefer not to."

Hmmm, sounds like she won't be getting her wish!

Lynne McGranger has reflected on the success of her Home and Away character Irene Roberts as the Summer Bay matriarch enters her 20th year on screen.

Irene first appeared on the soap in 1991 with actress Jacqui Phillips in the role, before McGranger took over in 1992 when the part was recast.

In an interview with TV Week to mark the milestone, McGranger described Irene as "a rough diamond with a heart of gold".

She continued: "Her journey over the past 20 years has been enormous. Possibly the only thing missing in Irene's life is true love. She hasn't had a lot of success - every time she gets involved with a guy, he ends up dead or in prison!"

McGranger is Home and Away's second longest-serving cast member, behind show legend Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart).

Asked whether she has ever considered quitting the programme, McGranger replied: "Honestly, no. If another job came my way, I think I'd do what Ray's done in going to London to do Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. I wouldn't have stayed in this long if I was miserable. They will carry me out in a box!"

The star's interview has led to a number of Home and Away fans sending her messages of support and congratulations on Twitter.

Writing on the social networking site earlier today, she said: "Thanks for the kind thoughts guys. Irene first appeared 20 years ago, I've been channelling her for 18 years!… Touched and overwhelmed by all the love and good wishes. Thank you SO much! Axle Whitehead has reportedly been banned from attending Sydney Swans games after "screaming abuse" during Saturday night's match.

The Australian actor, who is best known for playing Liam Murphy in Home and Away, was attending the team's Forward Pocket function as the VIP guest of a club supporter but allegedly upset fans with his "offensive" behaviour.

Onlookers told The Daily Telegraph that Whitehead, who was joined by fellow TV stars Daniel Macpherson and Sarah Cummin, shouted at crowd members, made lewd hand gestures and used bad language.

One said: "He looked like he had far too much to drink and was yelling and screaming abuse during the game. Everyone was really angry but when they told him to behave he called supporters 'd**kheads'."

Another source added: "You don't go to a football game, in a function room, and abuse fans of the home team. We left early and made it clear to event staff [that] Axle's behaviour was extremely offensive."

Whitehead's spokesperson Denise Roberts yesterday claimed that people were "making a mountain out of a molehill", saying: "Axle was defending himself against one woman in particular who was abusing him. He didn't start the altercation."

It is believed that Swans bosses have now barred Whitehead from attending any future events at the club.

Jodi Gordon has become engaged to Braith Anasta, it has been reported.

The Australian actress, who is best known for playing Martha Mackenzie in Home and Away, is believed to have inked a contract worth $200,000 (£130,000) with a glossy magazine for exclusive rights to her engagement to Roosters captain Anasta.

The couple have been dating since December 2009. She has since described him as "beautiful", while he said he feels "lucky" to have her. She has also revealed that she is "still learning a lot" about rugby league by watching him play.

Anasta and Gordon were believed to be experiencing relationship problems in January, when an eyewitness said that the couple seemed "disconnected" while having dinner together.

A friend of Anasta also said that they doubted he would make it to three years with Gordon, as he never got past that mark with ex-girlfriends Sara Bray, Erin McNaught or Candice Falzon.

Gordon split from Channel Seven heir Ryan Stokes in 2009 shortly after she was found by police hiding in a Sydney apartment with a suspected gangster. Drugs and firearms were believed to be involved in the incident.

A friend of Samara Weaving has revealed that the soap star is "happily single".

The 19-year-old Australian actress, who is best known for playing Indigo Walker in Home and Away, reportedly split from her boyfriend of three years, a Canberra-based university student named Paul, back in April.

A friend of Weaving told The Daily Telegraph: "Samara moved to Sydney from Canberra last year after being cast as Indi, and her relationship became a long distance one because of Paul's university studies.

"They kept the romance going - but in the end the distance between the two was the catalyst for the relationship to end. So Samara is happily single, working long hours."

Home and Away's series producer Cameron Welsh has confirmed that the soap's team have been aiming for a change of tone in recent months, bringing relationships back to the forefront of the programme.

The showrunner told TV Tonight that he believes the serial has cut down on darker storylines this year following previous plots about killers and stalkers.

In an interview with the website, Welsh described "the heart of the show" as "youth and teenagers who are growing up in what is an uncertain world and they seek the guidance of the people around them".

Discussing some of the soap's more recent seasons, he continued: "It did get particularly dark. All that I have described was going on but it was probably taking a bit of a back seat to some darker storytelling.

"But last year and definitely this year we looked to turn that around, and we got the focus back on to characters and relationships and pulled back on that stuff.

"This season has seen a lot of the River Boys and yes they are a bunch of rogues, but it's a different tone to the crazed gunmen and stalkers. They still provide a sense of danger and can be antagonists but not at the same tonal level."

Welsh also hinted that another disaster storyline could be on the way as a special week of episodes airing later this year will see "a major storm" hit Summer Bay.

Tessa James has split from Nate Myles, according to reports.

The Australian actress, who is best known for her role as Nicole Franklin in Home and Away, announced her engagement to rugby star Myles in March this year but has now apparently cancelled the wedding scheduled for December.

A friend of James told The Daily Telegraph that the star has now decided to embark on a Hollywood acting career.

Myles was recently fined and sacked by the Sydney Roosters after he and teammates Todd Carney and Frank-Paul Nu'uausala broke the rules of a team alcohol ban earlier this month.

The club released a statement saying: "Following discussions with Nate Myles and his manager in relation to the recently issued breach notice, it has been determined that Nate will be fined an undisclosed sum and will continue to be excused from training and playing, as well as any other club activity under the terms of his contract.

Jodi Gordon's former friend Mark Judge is in a coma after being stabbed nine times.

Ex-Home and Away actress Gordon was linked to the 31-year-old former Rebels associate in 2009 when police were informed of gunmen about to storm a Sydney flat. However, officers only found the duo cowering in a bedroom after a rumoured drug-fuelled episode.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Judge was stabbed in the chest, neck and thigh by a mystery attacker in the garage of his Bellevue Hill apartment late last week. A spokesperson for St Vincent's Hospital has described his condition as "extremely critical" after he underwent emergency surgery to stem the bleeding and repair damage to his kidneys, lung and bowel.

Although Gordon's friends have insisted that she has had no contact with Judge since the 2009 incident, she was spotted yesterday in Darlinghurst near the hospital where he is receiving treatment.

A police source has said that Judge's history of violent assault and drug offences, together with links to a bikie gang, could produce a long list of potential suspects. One senior officer said: "With his reputation and history, it could be anybody."

Since Judge was convicted of drug possession in 2002, assault in 2005 and hindering a police officer in 2008, he has been forced to take regular drug tests, but all have come back negative.

Gordon was in a relationship with Seven Network heir Ryan Stokes at the time of the incident involving Judge, but they later split over the scandal. She is now engaged to Roosters captain Braith Anasta.

The 26-year-old has been appearing as bad boy Heath Braxton on the Summer Bay soap since the beginning of the year, and fans in the UK are about to see him start playing a more prominent role in storylines.

Speaking to OK Extra about life on the Home and Away set, Ewing commented: "I absolutely love it. As an actor, it's a dream come true being cast in a soap because it's guaranteed regular work. It's actually not the first time I've appeared on the show. I had a small part as a character called Reuben five years ago.

"The producers liked me but back then I was 20 and wasn't quite ready to appear on the show. They asked me to audition for the part of Heath's younger brother but I ended up getting the main part. I haven't looked back since!"

Asked whether he has any future acting ambitions, he replied: "I definitely want to make films. I really admire people like Russell Crowe and Ryan Kwanten who have gone on to make it in Hollywood. They've shown that it's possible to be more than a soap actor."

Ewing also explained that he is currently single and is not looking for a girlfriend.

"I don't think it would be fair to be in a relationship," he said. "I know what I'm like when I come home from filming. I'm moody and tired - who wants to be around that?"

She recently told the paper: "I work on endorsements and other stuff, but this year I've explored other things like writing and developing my own project. I'm hoping another project will be locked down for the New Year, which I can't talk about... but I've enjoyed having almost a year off."

Ritchie has also revealed recently that she feels finally ready to start a family with Stuart Webb, who she married in a private ceremony in Tasmania last year.

She said: "I've always wanted to be a mother and I've found the right man to do it with, so of course it's on the cards."

After quitting Home and Away in 2007, Ritchie admitted that she wasn't sure if she would be okay, but later became "confident" through other acting and radio presenting jobs.

Two co-stars from Home and Away are believed to be moving in together.

Aussie actors Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds, who play Romeo Smith and Ruby Buckton in the Australian soap, have been dating since the beginning of last year and are even rumoured to be considering marriage.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the couple were spotted looking at an apartment for sale in the Randwick area of Sydney at the weekend.

Mitchell has previously said that the couple "like to have arguments" about "anything and everything", while Breeds said: "We do have little tiffs. I push his buttons. We're not perfect - we're just a healthy, normal couple."

Despite previously saying that they never wanted their Home and Away characters to become romantically involved, Mitchell and Breeds did have to film love scenes when Romeo cheated on girlfriend Indi with Ruby.

He said: "It's kinda cool - we have incidental scenes every now and again, and that's fun to do... but I reckon it'd be more difficult if we were [permanent] love interests on the show and were involved on screen and off."

Esther Anderson has said that she was too "skinny" last year.

The Home and Away actress, who plays Charlie Buckton in the Australian soap, said that she lost a lot of weight after taking part in Dancing with the Stars Australia last year and then struggled to put it back on.

When asked if she thought she was too thin at the time, Anderson told New Idea magazine: "Absolutely. I was eating as much as I could but that's just the way my body is. I don't exercise a lot, so when you add 30 hours of training in, my body changed. But it's history now and I feel really good and womanly again.

"I just wanted to get back to my normal size as quickly as possible. I'm back to my normal weight. I eat whatever I want, but it's healthy."

Anderson continued: "I was brought up on healthy food. I don't exclude anything - I have treats. It's just not too much excess. I love coffee and I love wine. I eat pizza.

"It's been a huge year, in terms of my professional workload. I'm so content with my job and where I am in life at the moment. Everything feels as it should be."

After her dramatic weight loss on Dancing with the Stars, Anderson said: "I don't want young girls to look at me and think I'm trying to be skinny and that I think protruding ribs look good, because I don't. I would love to be a lot more curvy."

She also said that all the hours of dancing made her feel hungry.

Home and Away actor Ray Meagher has revealed that he has no intention of retiring in the near future.

The veteran actor, 67, is the longest-serving member of the soap's cast, having joined in 1988 for the pilot episode as Alf Stewart.

"My contract runs until the end of next year and if I feel the way I feel now I'd be happy to do some more," Meagher told the Daily Express

"I absolutely still enjoy playing Alf. I've become accustomed to fans approaching me in the street, they're always so nice and friendly."

Meagher is currently starring in the West End's Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. He has reprised his role as Bob to celebrate the show's 1,000th production.

He was recently named as the first celebrity to be included as a waxwork in the Sydney branch of Madame Tussauds.

Home and Away's Esther Anderson has hit back at reports that she is dating her co-star Steve Peacocke.

The 32-year-old Australian actress, whose character Charlie has been romantically involved with Peacocke's Brax on screen, said that she doesn't mind if people think they are together because it shows that she is doing her job well.

Anderson told New Idea magazine: "I guess it's a compliment to my acting, which is good. That's what you want [but] we are just friends. Steve's one of the most talented actors I've ever worked with and he's completely humble about it. He's brought out the best in my acting as well.

"I'm single. But I'm really happy where I am. I don't feel like there is anything missing and I think I kind of feel, in a way, a bit excited that I've still got the relationship side of things to look forward to when it happens."

Anderson recently said that she let herself get too "skinny" while taking part in Dancing with the Stars last year, but said that she is now a healthy weight and feels "really good and womanly again".

Hemsworth and Pataky married in Australia over the 2010 Christmas holidays.

Home and Away star Emily Symons has confessed that she has come to terms with not having children.

The actress, who plays Marilyn Chambers in the Australian soap, split from second husband Lorenzo Smith in 2005 after two unsuccessful IVF attempts.

However, losing her mum to breast cancer in May 2010 helped her to gain a new perspective on the situation, Symons told the Herald Sun.

"I spent a lot of my 30s being so anguished about not having a baby," she said. "Then you realise life is really too short. When you spend a lot of time on a cancer ward, it makes the baby thing seem irrelevant. There's a longing and a biological need to have a baby that I don't think men have.

"But the flip side is that IVF can take over your life. It gets to the point where you're so desperate to have a baby, everything else falls by the wayside. There was a phase when I thought, if I had a baby, my mum might stay alive longer. It was crazy; your hormones [go mad]. But I'm at peace with that now. I understand it wasn't meant for me."

Symons spent eight years in Emmerdale before returning to Australia in 2009 to look after her mother, and subsequently reprised her role as Marilyn in Summer Bay.

"Suddenly I left my job and my friends," she said of leaving the UK. "Overnight, I was standing in Sydney. Of course, it's my home, but I hadn't lived here for 10 years. There's an adjustment period. You have to reconnect with your family and your old friends. I felt like a fish out of water."

She also thanked her Home and Away colleagues, such as Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart), for supporting her following her mum's death.

Home and Away star Luke Jacobz has been seriously electrocuted.

The Australian actor and TV presenter, who played Angelo Rossetta in the Aussie soap from 2007 until last year and also fronts The X Factor, was rushed to hospital after receiving a shock in his Sydney apartment.

Jacobz told TV Week that he was standing at his stove and "touching too many electrical things at the one time" when he was suddenly thrown across the kitchen.

He added: "I had quite a few thousand volts go through me."

Jacobz was reportedly told at hospital that he was "really lucky" not to have been more seriously hurt.

Last year, the star revealed that he was going to "try [his] luck" in Hollywood, saying: "I've never had the chance to go over because I've been busy working, so this year I'm making sure I just do it. I might ring Mr [Chris] Hemsworth and crash on his couch for a while."

When he left Home and Away, Jacobz said that he had "thoroughly enjoyed" playing the role, but later admitted that he was "upset" at the programme's executives deciding that his character had "reached all the different goals that the show wanted him to".

Home and Away stars Luke Mitchell and Rebecca Breeds have announced their engagement.

Mitchell popped the question to Breeds in April as they shared a four-day break on Hayman Island, Queensland to celebrate his birthday. He had been preparing for the proposal for three months.

The pair, who play Summer Bay's Romeo Smith and Ruby Buckton, confirmed their news in the latest issue of New Idea magazine.

Mitchell told the publication: "Honestly, it was one of the most difficult things I've ever done in my life. I had the element of surprise - I didn't tell anyone what I was planning, not a soul, not even my parents.

"But pretending there was nothing special on my mind for three months before I actually asked her to marry me - that was the best acting I've ever done!"

Recalling the proposal, Breeds commented: "I turned around and there was Luke on one knee with a ring box in his hand. My jaw just hit the ground. I was so surprised I forgot to say 'yes' at first!"

The couple first met in May 2009 shortly after Mitchell had been cast in Home and Away. They initially became friends before embarking on a relationship.

Home and Away fans have also seen Romeo and Ruby have an on-off romance in the soap's storylines.

Breeds added: "I don't want a long engagement. There's a film out at the moment, The Five Year Engagement, but I don't think that's how we're going to roll!"

Home and Away airs weekdays at 6pm on Channel 5 in the UK and weekdays at 7pm on Network Seven in Australia.
