Debbie begins to feel the first twinges of labour, but refusing to tell anyone about her suffering, she sneaks off alone into her hide.

As the contractions continue, the terrified teenager realises she needs help but as she reaches for her phone she howls with pain as she watches the battery die. Daz arrives to find Debbie in labour but will the young boy prove a suitable midwife?

Over in the Woolpack, the locals give Chas the send-off she deserves, but Carl is clearly struggling to stand back and watch her leave. Will he finally swallow his pride and confess his feelings to Emmerdale’s answer to GI Jane?

Elsewhere, Andy is ready to impress Libby with his newly acquired dance moves. However, when he turns up at the farmers’ ball he realises that waltzing isn’t on the agenda!

Having heard the news from Daz, Emily rushes into the hide to find a terrified Debbie with an unconscious baby. As Emily revives the tiny girl, Daz arrives with Dr Forsythe and after making sure mother and baby are well they are escorted to Emily’s house where Debbie is faced with Zak and Lisa. How will they react to the surprise family edition?

Meanwhile, unaware of the unfolding events, Paddy loses hope of winning over Emily when she dashes off with Daz in favour of talking to him. Is this the end of their marriage?

Having been given the all clear at the hospital, Debbie and the baby go home to the Dingles. Zak carries the tiny bundle into the house and Debbie breaks the news to a dumbstruck Cain.

Cain is crucified with guilt that Debbie has suffered alone, tormented that Daz was the only person she was able to confide in. As he takes in the news Debbie is grateful yet stunned by her father’s unexpected support.

Meanwhile, Andy is intrigued by Daz’s peculiar behaviour but remains oblivious to the unexpected turn of events that are soon to change his life forever.

Cain remains determined to stand by his daughter and grandchild and an impressed Zak invites him to move back in.

Daz continues to offer his support and naively suggests to Debbie that they bring up the baby together. He is hurt by her horrified response and feeling low he heads back to the farm where Andy questions his mood. Daz blurts out that Debbie has had Andy’s baby and the young farmer stands in shock as the enormity of the news sinks in.

Elsewhere, Matthew and Louise play a dangerous game, and as they get friendly in the cellar Diane makes her way down the stairs. Will the cheating couple hear her in time?

Thursday, 9th June
Jack is stunned to discover he is a grandfather, but after his initial fury he calms down and heads up to the Dingles’ with Andy.

Cain refuses to let them in until Zak intervenes, insisting that Debbie and Andy need to talk. Andy holds the baby in his arms and is mesmerised by her beauty. Debbie tells Andy that she’s named the baby Sarah, after his late step-mum and although he is initially shocked, it helps to reinforce his part in the baby’s life. Debbie is thrilled when Andy promises to be there for them, but will he stand by his word?

Elsewhere, Louise and Matthew are excited that the B&B will be ready in a week, knowing Terry will move back in, giving them more space.

Friday, 10th June
Matthew takes Terry for a night out, but after getting him uncontrollably drunk, Matthew carries him home where Terry passes out on the sofa. Taking advantage of the situation, Matthew and Louise head upstairs, but when Val hears noises she investigates the situation and discovers their affair. Is the game up for Louise?

Meanwhile, Andy is forced to put an end to his relationship with Libby in order to face up to his responsibilities. Despite his best efforts to do the right thing, Andy feels he can’t win when Robert fumes over the baby’s name and Tamsin shouts at him over his treatment of her sister.

Elsewhere, having lied to Pollard about planning a birthday party for him, Val desperately tries to think of ways to organise something at short notice. Realising that none of the villagers wants to spend an evening with the local con artist, she begins to panic. Can she come up with a plan in time?

Val’s VE Day celebration is reduced to mayhem when she gets thwacked by Viv Windsor!

But it’s ok, for Val fails to feel the pain thanks to the warming of her heart by the village slimeball, Eric Pollard!

Val has spent the previous week arranging a VE Day celebration party, which is actually a guise for what Pollard thinks it’s a surprise birthday party for him!

“Val tries to arrange a birthday party for Eric,” says Charlie Hardwick, who plays the scheming Val.

“But when people realise who it’s for they tell her to forget it because they hate his guts, so she’s a bit stuck!”

It’s not long before the guests of the bash realise that Val has tricked them and mayhem ensues!

“It all goes terribly wrong,” Charlie laughs. “Val tries to salvage the situation, but it comes out about her and Bob sleeping together and all hell breaks loose!

“Before you know it, Viv Windsor takes a swing at Val, who goes flying into a waiter carrying a tray of beer. It’s a real tragedy!”

Pollard is not amused either and has a go at Val, which upsets the cunning fox who has developed strong feelings for the councillor.

“Val has really fallen for Eric, so she makes a last-ditch effort to sort it out,” says Charlie. “They end up having a terrible row. Val tells Eric they are too old to faff about any more.”

But does Pollard feel the same way? Oh, you’ll just have to wait and see!
