Dirty Money
Airing Wednesday, 1st June 2005
Sindi's elation at raising money for Stuart's eye operation is short-lived when Stuart expresses his disgust at her means of obtaining the cash. His male pride wounded, Stuart rejects both Sindi and the money. A persistent Connor talks him around and eventually an apologetic Stuart approaches Sindi, cap in hand telling her he wants to go ahead with the operation, but it's too late, Sindi has already given the money away.
Boyd confesses to taking HgH. Steph is shocked that he'd risk his health in such a way and angry that he concealed it from her. She's also angry with herself for not realising the full extent of his unhealthy obsession and questions her ability as a parent. Boyd swears he's no longer involved with the Gym or using drugs, but Steph having been through all this before with Jack is not sure if she can trust him. When Boyd begs her not to tell his father she eventually agrees, but only on the condition he returns to school and carries out regular blood and urine tests until she's satisfied he'd clean. When Boyd suffers another reaction to the drugs - the momentary loss of motor skills - he's fearful of how Steph will react and keeps it to himself.
Lyn finally allows herself to revel in the excitement of a new romance. But an overnight graffiti attack courtesy of Andy's ex shakes Lyn's newfound confidence. Despite Susan and Steph's support, Lyn wonders if it's all too hard and talks of ending the relationship. It seems her happiness is over before it's barely begun.
Concerned for the future of their relationship, Connor begs Carmella to continue therapy. But Carmella's fear of intimacy persists. Will she be emotionally scarred forever?
Summer comes to Penny's defence and stands up to Lisa's bullying. In doing so, Summer' has clearly stated her allegiance to the nerds - but maybe it's not so bad.

Preparing for a school debate, Boyd confuses Serena by blurting out a couple of uncharacteristic remarks. Serena begins to wonder if Boyd may still be attracted to her. At the debate, Boyd surprises everyone with an improvised yet brilliant performance, narrowly escaping public humiliation. But he has no idea how he actually managed to pull it out of the bag.

'Finger on the Button'
Airing Friday, 3rd June 2005
Weary of going through the same old conflicts with a stubborn David, Lil walks out on him. Resisting Harold and Serena’s emotional appeals to come home, Lil accepts Paul’s offer of accommodation at Lassiter’s. Exploiting the split, lovelorn Paul persuades both Lil and David they are each in the right while channelling his secret passion for Lil into his illicit relations with Izzy. Paul’s duplicity reaches a head when Lil visits his hotel room while Izzy is inside.
Stepping up her scrutiny of Paul despite several close calls, Izzy recognises a name on his mysterious list and finds an email from Lee Thomas that smacks of corruption. She unintentionally lays her hands on Paul’s jacket - the one piece of evidence that could connect him to the arson - but it’s not until later that she realises its significance and risks discovery by trying to steal it.
Carmella and Connor continue the pretence that all is well between them but Connor is painfully aware of her discomfort. After expressing to Karl his fear that the relationship will not survive, Connor’s hope is renewed when Carmella makes a new bid at physical intimacy. Unbeknownst to him, she is forcing herself for his sake.
Convalescing alone, Karl can’t mentally bring himself to leave the flat. While counselling Connor, Karl indirectly voices his belief that it will take some time for him to emotionally recover from his experience - a truth apparent in his own strained interaction with Izzy.
