If you ever get the chance to go, do it. Its an amazing country!! Best Holiday I've ever had (although New Year in New Orleans comes a very close second)

Well i've been to the Dominican Republic and had a fantastic time! Due to security reasons your not given much of a chance to move oot and about of the hotel complex but apart from that its such a fantastic country and full of flavour, snorkelling in the Caribbean Sea was excellent!
We stayed self catering and went out and ate at local restaurants and sorted out our own trips and went on the public beach even though we were told by tour operators that it was dangerous - they just tell you that so you go on their trips etc.
Snorkling is amazing their - again we hired our own boat for the day
