Bannerman keen on 'EastEnders' return

Marc Bannerman has claimed that he would return to EastEnders "in a heartbeat" if he were given the opportunity.

The actor, who played Gianni di Marco in the soap between 1998 and 2000, said that he enjoyed having the chance to build a character over an extended period of time.

He told DS: "I love EastEnders and I loved my time there.

"It was a regular job, and also on a soap you get to develop a character over a period of time, and I quite enjoyed that. You get to add your own little traits and after three years you can play with it a bit more.

"I love the stability of a soap, you know?"

When asked if he would ever return to the show, the I'm A Celebrity... star said: "I would go back in a heartbeat, but I can't see it happening, personally."

I used to like him but i dont think i would like to see him back - what reason is there? He has no family and hardly anyone is around now that were when Gianni was and even if there are people they dont have a strong enough connection to him to warrent him going back

I definietly don't want to see him back in it, surely there are better characters that the viewers would rather see returning, such as Mel, although the likelihood of that is zero.

Of course he would love to return, easy job, easy money, easy fame. I wish the producers would stop taking old characters back, they left for a reason ie the public was sick of them and they're characters had burned out, so keep them out.
