Sygate Firewall (http://smb.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm). Really good free firewall software. I'm not sure of the address lol but just type Sygate Firewall (http://smb.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm) into Google.

it may have come as part of a bundle - so may be totally legal. We assume soapboard users are law abiding people :D and always will be :D

Reminds me of a car boot sale once:

He had a sign saying "Legal CDs" and underneath was written in a smaller font "Software may not be"

I've got Ad-Aware! It is really good with sorting out Adware and stuff. I've got a free version but without all the features.

Mordor.
Agree with all your recommendations except Microsoft Anti-Spyware.
I know quite a few people who's pc's (mine included) were totally stuffed because of it.
But then its still in beta mode so i guess that is to be expected.
I use Spyware Blaster, which is also free, comes with updates and stops spyware from even being put on the pc, which kind of gets rid of the need to have Microsofts AS anyway.
Firefox i would be lost without, makes 1meg broadband soooooooo much quicker.

The thing about ms anti-spyware is its not really an ms product. MS bought out the company that wrote it originally. I've never had any probs with it, but everyones PC is different.

MS Antispyware drives me insane, it picks up every tiny little thing and closes your browser all the time...

Which means your pc is probably infested with spyware!
