Bad Wolf
11-05-2005, 17:56
Nabakov’s Cocoon is front page news for all of the wrong reasons and Bruno is furious – it looks like his private member’s club could go down the pan. Hazel arrives to find Bruno taking out his frustrations on Lucy who is trying her best to remain positive – how was Shannon to know that all of their kitchen staff were illegal immigrants? Luckily, Hazel’s done some damage limitation but Bruno will have to close the club for a while until it all blows over. However, Bruno’s choosing to blame Lucy for the mess the club is in and flies into a rage, smashing a picture of her in the process.

Now that he knows that he’s a steroid user, Roger is watching Seb like a hawk. Unaware of what Seb has been up to, Jackie thinks that Roger is simply being too strict, especially when she comes across one of their new early morning training sessions. Seb isn’t too happy about the new regime either, particularly as he’s having to give his dad regular urine samples. Still, he’s touched by the fact that his new step-mum seems to be going out of her way to stick up for him.

Even after her documentary accidentally revealed illegal goings-on at Nabakov’s Cocoon, Shannon is still determined to continue with it. Still desperate to raise her profile, Shannon is also getting stuck into the charity work with a vengeance. As always, she manages to take things to the extreme and “Adopts-a-Granny”! Harley is livid – his wife’s greed for celebrity is ruining their lives and now he’s sharing his mansion with an old age pensioner!

Amber revels in playing the pop princess when she is interviewed live by DJ Neil Fox to promote her single, ‘Bhangra Bootie’. Amber’s convinced it will be a number one hit but is only too aware of how tough it will be to change her image.

Says Neil: "Working with Amber reminded me of those crazy days of Pop Idol auditions. She's gorgeous, just a shame her character can't sing! But I loved being on the show as I'm a big fan."

Hazel and the team are surprised to hear that their new star player hasn’t made Roger’s team list for the next match. Hazel can’t understand Roger’s treatment of Seb – he’s the best player they’ve got, why isn’t he on the pitch? Meanwhile, Seb is happy to stir the situation behind his dad’s back and when Conrad steps in to stick up for him, it seems that he might have even managed to drive a wedge between Captain and Manager.

In desperation, the deeply unhappy Lucy calls Amber and Shannon to see if they can meet, hiding her dismay when they are too busy. As a last resort, she calls a domestic violence hotline, but hangs up, eventually taking out her frustrations on an expensive vase. Bruno is furious when he returns home with Angelica to be told about the vase. He tells Lucy that if she can’t be trusted to clean the house, then perhaps he should lock her in a room whilst he’s out. Once again, Lucy is horrified to discover that Angelica has witnessed the entire scene.

Conrad indulges in a drastic but artistic display of affection to win back Amber. When she arrives home, she finds him almost passed out in pain and with blood seeping through his shirt. She gasps when she sees the enormous tattoo on Conrad’s back, spelling out the names ‘Amber’ and ‘Phoenix’. It seems that it’s about time that she took him back properly.

Lucy has resorted to the Internet as a way of making friends away from Bruno’s watchful eyes. Hazel meanwhile is becoming deeply concerned about Lucy and invites her out for lunch. Lucy denies any problems with her marriage and offers to prove it with an impromptu evening at her house. At the same time, Bruno decides to make an attempt to make up for the sudden closure of Cocoon and invites the lads around on the same night. Bruno is annoyed when he discovers that Lucy has invited the wives around on the same night as he’s invited the lads, but, when he finds out that Hazel’s on his wife’s guest list, there’s nothing much he can do about it.

Shannon and Harley arrive late at the party after being forced to take care of their new house guest, Mrs Birkeham. Shannon apologises for her role in the closing of Nabakov’s Cocoon and, although she clears the air with Bruno, the dinner is an awkward affair. What she doesn’t know is that back home, Mrs Birkeham is acquainting herself with the contents of their house!

After dinner, the lads play pool and Bruno manages to get Seb to break his promise to Roger by talking him into getting stuck into the vodka. Much to Bruno’s chagrin, the women are having a much better time next door, watching firemen stripping on the Internet! Lucy is happy to finally get the chance to have a laugh with her friends, but what will Bruno think of it all? Lucy finds out when they are alone that night. He leaves her feeling terrified and alone, with only one person to turn to…her new Internet friend.

Harley is already beginning to lose patience with Mrs Birkeham, but when she interrupts his steamy session with Shannon, it seems that she really has outstayed her welcome. Over at the Webb’s, Seb arrives home as pissed as a newt to find Jackie alone. He takes his chance – with a kiss! Jackie is mortified…or is she?
