Tensions mount in the Barnes household as Sarah (Loui Batley) and Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies) feel their dad\'s absence. Kathy (Sarah Jane Buckley) blames Mike (Tony Hirst) for everything, but she\'s left reeling when Sarah slaps her and moves out to live with her dad. Clare (Gemma Bissix) hides the fact that she caught Warren (Jamie Lomas) taking drugs in The Loft from Max (Matt Littler). Craig (Guy Burnet), John Paul (James Sutton) and Sonny (Devon Anderson) attend football trials, but tempers flare when the trials are cancelled and Sonny pushes Craig to the limits. As a fight ensues, the boys are left to think about their actions as they face the headmaster tomorrow.

Kathy (Sarah Jane Buckley) makes a fuss of Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies) after Sarah\'s (Loui Batley) departure, but as soon as Amy leaves for school, Kathy\'s bravado slips: she\'s devastated by the break-up of her family. Becca (Ali Bastian) feels pressured by Justin (Chris Fountain) and his talk of wedding plans when he insists she speaks to Jake (Kevin Sacre) about a divorce. Craig (Guy Burnet) and Sonny (Devon Anderson) are summoned to the headmaster after their fight yesterday. Frankie (Helen Pearson) does her best to be friendly to Calvin (Ricky Whittle) and put their troubles aside, but Calvin\'s bitter. For once, Craig and Sonny are silent as Frankie and Calvin exchange heated words.

Justin (Chris Fountain) and Becca (Ali Bastian) make up following their argument the previous night. The tension is palpable between Kathy (Sarah Jane Buckley) and Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies) as Mike (Tony Hirst) and Sarah (Loui Batley) relax in each other\'s company. Clare (Gemma Bissix) is wary when Max (Matt Littler) invites Warren (Jamie Lomas) round to the flat, not wanting him to be ingratiated into their home life. Warren\'s laid back and enjoys some friendly banter with Max and Tom (Ellis Hollins), but Clare\'s not happy: he\'s obviously up to something, but what?

Becca (Ali Bastian) and Justin (Chris Fountain) attend their first antenatal class, but Becca\'s apprehensive as she watches the happy couples. It\'s the day of the big dj\'ing competition at the Loft and John Paul (James Sutton) arrives to warm up for his set only to find Sonny (Devon Anderson) already there. The boys argue over the decks but they\'re soon put in their place by Clare (Gemma Bissix). And Mike (Tony Hirst) doesn\'t know what to do for the best when Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies) refuses to talk to her mum.

As her feelings change towards him, is time running out for their relationship? The students plan a night out down the Union, though Zak (Kent Riley) and Will (Oliver Farnworth) are less than impressed to have Jessica (Jennifer Bidall) hanging out with them. Max (Matt Littler) and Tom (Ellis Hollins) get caught up reminiscing over old photos and even the infamous Maxacise suit. Max puts on his old workout gear to give Tom a demonstration and is mortified when Clare (Gemma Bissix) discovers them, but Clare finds it all rather amusing. It\'s Clare\'s turn to be mortified when Max suggests they start a family.
