Kerry Katona is reported to be upset after she tried to wangle a job on Coronation Street.

The winner of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here has been trying to secure a role in the soap - but producers turned her down.

Last year she split with her husband, former Westlife star Brian McFadden, and has barely worked since apart from a few small presenting roles.

I am glad that the corrie bosses have enough sence to not let her work on the street. I am not a fan of the soaps taking on personality just because they are well known, I know that it has worked for them all in the past but I think that they have to be careful

i dont think tv presenters or singers can make it as soap stars as soaps seem more real when they have everyday ordinary people in where as she makes to much of a song and dance of herself

I like Kerry - i met her before and she was a very nice girl, i watched her a 2 part film there a while ago (cant remember the name of it) she was a singer from liverpool in it - i thought she was good :cheer: :cheer:

Showgirl or something like that.. well it is not hard for her to play a singer but I can't see her in corrie

I think kerry would be good in corrie, she is a straight talking gal and has had a bad time,she knows how to party. she should be given a chance.

i agree i like Kerry i think that she seems like a very down to earth woman who has had a bad year.

i would like to see her achieve something and think her going into corrie is certainly no worse than them having someone like craig charles join

what her having bad year got to do with? loads of people have bad years but doest mean u shud give them the job. ive got nothing against her i wud just preffer them giving someone else a chance to proove them selfs. theres some really decent actors out there who dont get noticed enough.

Her having a bad year has nothing to to with this really all i ment was it would be nice to see her getting a break. You never know she might be fantastic. I do recall her having acting leassons when she was younger.

nah i read in kerry's column in ok yesterday that it was total rubbish she said she has had no connection with coronation street except the fact that she watches it. and that she doesnt know where that could've come from, and that she doesnt want a job there, but do we think it could be hurt pride?! :hmm:

I think so too. I think Kieran is very good in corrie, ok, so he IS leaving but it shows that it CAN sometimes work for singers to be actors! And it's much better than the other way around!!!

Kerry was great in the jungle and really deserved to win! i like Kerry and i think she had a really bad year but i do not think she would be great in corrie!
