Terence threatens Adam

As Lesley bags up Rodney’s clothes for jumble she comes across his credit card. Although initially she intends to return it, when she finds the millionaire lavishing an expensive gift on Kelly she has a change of heart.
Lesley uses the card to pay her phone bill, but as she battles with her conscience she cuts up the card to avoid further temptation. Will Lesley get away with her deceit?
Dawn is also having money worries and she is agitated further when Jo, who isn’t paying full rent, brings a conquest back to the house. Jamie is concerned by the extent of Dawn’s anger and he calls Jean to tell her that he is concerned for his sister.
Over at the doctors surgery, Adam gets a shock when Terence turns up and reveals that he knows the truth about Adam’s past. Adam is horrified but what is the doctor’s dark secret?
Dawn seeks revenge

Dawn receives a repayment letter and is devastated by how much she owes. Jamie suggests she asks for a loan from Bob or Jean, but Dawn knows her father is broke and doesn’t want her mother involved.
Later, Dawn sees Scott with a brand new car and out of frustration she trashes it. How will the single mother react when Scott threatens to call the police?
Adam is beside himself when Terence sends him a photocopy of an incriminating newspaper article. Adam decides that he has no choice but to flee the country.
Meanwhile, Donna notices Paddy’s crush on Toni and can’t resist organising a double date with her and Marlon. Will her meddling pay off?
The police arrive to question Dawn

Dawn realises Scott has carried out his threat when a policewoman arrives to question her. Dawn’s about to confess but Viv comes to her aid by providing an alibi.
Later on, Jean arrives to reunite Jamie with his dog, Snoop, and tells Dawn that she intends to sort her out. Her first act is to evict Jo and pay Dawn’s debts, but will Dawn be grateful for her mother’s support?
Adam panics when Terence comments to Steph about the doctor’s past. Luckily for Adam, Steph is preoccupied with her upset over Terence’s reappearance and Adam takes the opportunity to suggest they start a new life abroad. Will Steph agree?
Hari and Paddy meet Oakwell Hall’s residents, Grayson and Perdy, in the hope of securing new business. Hari effortlessly flirts with the lady of the manor and when Perdy later turns up at the surgery, Hari thinks he may have made an impression!
Adam takes drastic measures

Having taken out a loan to pay off Terence, Adam hopes he’ll soon be rid of him for good. However, Terence demands more money and aggressively insists this is just one of many payments.
Frightened by Terence’s behaviour, Adam decides the only way to control him is to use some drugs to put him to sleep. Adam panics when he gets a call from Steph saying that she’s on her way home, and drags Terence’s body down into the cellar. He tries to act normally when Steph gets home but, just as he’s convincing her that everything is fine, there’s a loud crash from the cellar door – Terence has woken up…
Dawn begins to feel suffocated by her mother when she starts picking out potential jobs for her in the paper. Dawn voices her desire to do a childcare course but Jean is dismissive, insisting earning a wage is more important.
Toni arranges to meet Jimmy to discuss the PA job and arrives in her best seduction outfit. Paddy’s concerned about how far Toni will go for the job she wants, but does he have reason for concern?
Steph buries her past
Airs Thursday, April 13 2006 at 19:00 BST on ITV1
Full of shock, Steph and Adam have to fight Terence off. As Terence chases Steph up the stairs Adam is already up there. Instinctively, one of them picks up a fire extinguisher and hits Terence over the head with it. Terence rocks backwards and is hit again. Terence falls down the stairs and meets a violent end, but is it Steph or Adam who is responsible for his death?
Steph and Adam discuss calling the police but fear it would destroy Turner. Instead they dispose of Terence’s body by burying him in a shallow grave in the woods. Steph becomes hysterical and can’t comprehend how - everything keeps getting out of control. Adam turns nasty but insists that if they stick together they’ll be fine.
Over at the Woolpack Toni suggests to Jimmy that they continue the interview back at her place. Donna questions her actions, but Toni assures her that she’s only after the job. Will Toni stay true to her word?
Steph's in turmoil

When Steph turns down Turner’s lunch invitation, Adam tells her that they must keep up appearances to avoid suspicion and insists they go.
During lunch Steph does her best to hide her turmoil but eventually breaks down. Adam manages to get her out of the pub, leaving Jack and Turner concerned.
Toni is devastated to learn that Jimmy has given the job to Chas. Seeing her upset, Paddy gives her a comforting hug before bracing himself and admitting that he loves her. Toni gratefully replies that she loves her best mate too. Paddy is left feeling gutted.
Val worries that she’s been neglecting Noreen and is concerned when she finds her curtains drawn. Val enlists Pollard’s help and they discover she is too scared to show her face in public since her wig removing incident.
To everyone’s amazement, Pollard comforts her and eventually convinces Noreen to come out of hiding. Val is clearly impressed as she sees Pollard in a new light.
