'Mad About The Boy'
Airs Monday, April 3 2006 at 16:35 GMT on BBC One

Max and Lyn learn that Oscar is with Steph but relief turns to concern when she fails to return home. Steph knows that Lyn will be worried but rational thought is eclipsed by her need to escape the fear and isolation she feels at home. When Stu finds Steph, she’s distressed and feverish. Max feels certain the fever is a cancer symptom – time is running out. When Steph’s version of the day’s events doesn’t add up, concern only grows for her mental state. Stu agrees with Max that Steph isn’t fit to make medical decisions for herself, but Karl insists there’s nothing unduly worrying about her behaviour. When Max’s last-ditch attempt to convince Steph to get treatment fails, Stu empathises with Max’s sense of helplessness and uses his role as a cop to force Steph’s hand. Evoking an Involuntary Treatment Order, he apprehends Steph for a 72-hour mental health assessment. Steph might be forced to accept chemotherapy, but will she ever forgive Max or Stu?

Paul warns Elle that Ned doesn’t love her as much as she does him. What’s more, he believes Ned is still in love with Izzy and only wanted to live with them to be close to her. Furious, Elle condemns her dad’s hurtful pride and moves out permanently with plans to buy her own flat.

Elle insists she’s not jealous of Sky and Ned’s on-stage romance but it’s all show. When Gino adds yet more “romantic” scenes to the musical, green-eyed Elle makes some decidedly unflattering adjustments to Sky’s sexy, skimpy costume.

'The Pie Who Loved Me'
Airs Tuesday, April 4 2006 at 16:35 GMT on BBC One

A frightened Steph begins her involuntary mental health assessment at the hospital, furious at Max and Stu for putting her there. Karl warns Max that nothing good will come of it but Max stands firm – this is the last possible way of treating Steph’s cancer. Max’s confidence is shaken when he realises that his one ally, Stu, only helped Max because he genuinely thought Steph was unbalanced. Max insists Steph is not unhinged, simply mistaken. Stu is ashamed to realise his unresolved issues over Sindi led him to make a grave mistake and apologises profusely to Steph. She forgives Stu but can’t do the same for Max, telling him their marriage is over.

Steph’s saga at the hospital keeps Lyn from an appointment with Paul. Cooped up in the house and brooding over his conflict with Elle, Paul vents at Lyn, threatening to let her go. Standing strong, Lyn calls Paul’s bluff, lecturing him on the importance of family over business. Paul backs down, impressed with Lyn’s mettle, and their odd alliance lives to see another day.

When Toadie “pulls a sickie”, Tim Collins gets Connor to prove he’s faking. Connor pays Stingray for footage of Toadie at a pie-eating contest and is delighted by the irony of Toadie getting genuinely sick from overeating. But Toadie offers Stingray a higher price for the evidence and comes out on top.

'Secret Guardin'
Airs Wednesday, April 5 2006 at 16:35 GMT on BBC One

Janae continues to keep her situation from her mum and dreads her results finally arriving in the morning. It’s an agonising wait, one she shares with Boyd, who also has much at stake, including his medical career, which may be compromised or stalled if he has a serious communicable illness. Their love keeps them loyal and loving with each other, but when Janae hears her mum might’ve slept with Karl, she vents her fear as an angry accusation at Janelle – if Janae’s ill, it’s all her mum’s fault! Janae confronts Karl, whose uncertainty only seems to confirm he slept with Janelle. Meanwhile, Janelle reels from the fear Janae is ill - and that she couldn’t confide in her mum. Kim explains why, and accepts some parental guilt as well. When it’s time to go to the hospital for results, however, the family rallies around Janae, refusing to let her face the news alone.

When Karl confronts Max over Steph, Max vents his guilt and pain as anger. Boyd keeps him in line but Max now realises it was a terrible mistake to lead Stu to section Steph. Aware his dad is falling apart Boyd rallies to help out at the bar.

Max hints to Kim that Janelle might’ve been unfaithful, and Kim later realises from Bree’s slip that Janelle might’ve slept with Karl. Secretly uncertain, Janelle tells Kim she’d never do such a thing. Kim admits he’d be heartbroken if it was true.

Bree steps in to write Janelle’s revisions, and adds a new rival to “Tim”/Kim, Dr Kyle. Janelle’s appalled and her defensiveness opens a can of worms – did she sleep with Karl?

Dylan’s jealousy of Sky and Ned’s stage-kissing leads him to bag acting. Sky challenges him to take up a role in the play.

'An Affair To Dismember'
Airs Thursday, April 6 2006 at 16:35 GMT on BBC One

Steph’s symptoms prove viral rather than cancer-related, however Karl reminds her she is still battling a life-threatening disease. Upon her release from hospital he asks her again if she’ll consider having treatment, but Steph’s determined to do it her way. The only compromise she’ll make is to have the baby safely delivered by C-section at 36 weeks, and only then will she start chemo and only if her condition worsens. Lyn tells Max who begs her to lobby on his behalf, he’s desperate to have his wife back. Lyn does, but although swayed, Steph stick to her guns and leaves for the health farm without reconciling with Max.

The Timmins are out in force to support Janae when she visits the hospital to receive the long-awaited results from her blood tests. Janelle remains on the outer and is privately gutted when Janae chooses Kim over her as one of her support persons. When Janae, and by implication Boyd, are given the all clear, it’s a joyous occasion that brings the family together. All by Janelle who quietly mourns the estrangement between her and her daughter. Janae, meanwhile, suppressing guilt for putting Boyd through hell, is full of plans to excel and announces she intents to pursue a career as a nurse, so she can work with Boyd as a doctor. Further evidence of her new outlook on life comes with her declaration that she also intends to try out for the captaincy of the basketball team. Janelle finally gets her moment to open up and admit fault - she had set the wrong examples at times. She makes it clear that Janae only needs to be true to herself to win friends and love. Mother and daughter reconcile.

Kim remains guilty about losing the film money and decides to sell the Kombi. Stingray at first refuses to accept the proceeds but Kim persists and Stingray agrees.

Kim warns Karl that there could be strife once he finds out what really went down on the night Karl spent with Janelle. Karl and Janelle wrack their brains to remember what happened, but can’t, however in a flashback we see nothing occurred. Karl and Janelle agree to lie about the night, but Kim doesn’t buy it.

Realising Elle is the key to Paul’s happiness and, in turn, his rehabilitation, Izzy focuses on reuniting Paul with his daughter. When Izzy’s pleas for Elle to return home fall on deaf ears, it takes a few wise words from Ned to turn Elle around. Elle agrees to come back under two conditions: first, Paul must seek medical advice and second, accept and support her relationship with Ned. However, over a tense family dinner, Paul’s male pride again causes him to lash out at Ned. Elle retracts her offer to return home, leaving Izzy fearful for Paul’s progress. Without Elle, can Paul ever get better?

Without any concrete evidence to prove Paul is behind Harold’s disappearance, Lou decides to go directly to the source for answers. However, when Paul is genuinely baffled, Lou rightfully fears he has inadvertently caused Paul to suspect Harold is his tormenter. Desperate to throw Paul off the scent, Lou resorts to drastic measures to save his friend.

His past treatment of women called into question, Toadie vows to educate and better himself in relation to the fairer sex. Ironically, the more Toadie learns about women, the less he is convinced he had it wrong in the first place.

I don't mean to sound mean but Stu's been on UK screens for a while now - does anyone know when he is leaving at all. As it was reported around Christmas time Blair had his leaving party. I'm thinking he'll be on well into May/June 2006 over here. As we're only 3 months behind Australian screened episodes I think.
