A bit like recommend a book - just so people can try and increase the variety of genres they watch. Not all movies are going to be everyones taste, but thats the whole point!

I'll start it off with Fist Of Legend (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110200/), a martial arts movie based on the classic Fist Of Fury.

I recommend Apollo 13 and About A Boy. Two very good movies with faultless casting and direction.

havent seen "finding neverland" but i agree that "mean girls" was really funny! i didnt think it was going to be that great but my sis told me to watch it and i thought it was fab! :) another film i thought was excellent was "cabin fever". it wasnt really scary but it was a bit disgusting in places

I think most people have seen these ones but 'The Sixth Sense' is fantastic! And The Others is also brilliant! These are two brilliant films which keep you guessing until the end. There are so many twists and turns. I've got them both on video, it is better the first time you watch them, but I never get tired of seeing these. You do have to hide behind a pillow in parts though, I still haven't got used to seeing that gran in 'The Other's' putting on the daughter's voice (it really freaked me out!).

Ooh, where to begin?! Any monty python! - humor might not appeal to everyone but it does me! Any Lord of the Rings but especially the 2 Towers -The Fellowship is a bit slow and the last 20mins of Return of the King drags on. Again - maybe not to everyones taste but the effects and imagination are fantastic! Also Gladiator is a brilliant movie - Russel Crowe before he turned into a bad boy! Theres probably more but thats all i can think of - Team America had me giggling! :rotfl:

Films I would recommend Goodfellas (if you can stomach it) very violent but ace movie, the greatest movie ever made.
Try The Usual suspects as well, the ending rocks.
Any Tarantino movie Pulp Fiction and Reservoir dogs being the ones I would recommend mostly.
For British films try trainspotting and Layer Cake. Oh and finally try L.A Confidential- American cinema at it's finest.

28-07-2005, 22:02
yeah i agree with the ring ... the trailers seamed good but the movie was a bit pants . i dont think the third scream is that good because there is only one killer in the end (not gonna say who couse it will spoil it ) and that person hasnt got any reason of killing all those people . i surpose it does keep you guessing but i think the first is the best but like i said the third is the funnyest !

willow
28-07-2005, 22:08

I got Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and Sin city for my 18th.

Both are good films. Sin city is very violent and not for the faint hearted but the graphics are gorgeous! It's all black and white with odd splashes of colour so it looks much more like a comic.

As for Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, its quite faithful to the radio series I think in its tone, which is probably why it is so underated, I dont think Americans understood the humour!

I recommend Saw. Not as scary as everyone seems to make out round my area but worth watching!

I definetly agree with you on Saw! A brilliant movie, the ending is brilliant, i will just have to watch the second movie now but definetly a movie i recommend.

Other movies i recommend are The Ring and Ring 2, i love these movies and also House of Wax. Seed Of Chucky and Bride Of Chucky are good movies, a bit weird but still good (a bit gory in places) Also i recommend Without A Paddle, Meet The Parents and all the Scary Movie films for great comedy.

I also recommend Scream, Cabin Fever, Shaun Of The Dead, Dodgeball, Hide And Seek, Ocean's 11, Anchorman, Batman Begins and The Day After Tomorrow. I could go on forever but i really enjoyed the movies i have listed and i recommend them.

I love horror movies so anyone who has watched good horror movies, please recommend them.

itsme!

SAW 2 is meant to be just as good as the first one... I really liked that movie, not scary but gory in parts..

it is!, you get to see jigsaw aswell, and you have to pay close attention near the end because it gets very complicated the second one is only 1 story really though where as the first one shows loads of different games he's played
