'To Russia With Love'
Airs Monday, March 20 2006 at 17:35 on BBC One

In an effort to make her feel included, Susan invites the grieving and frustrated Katya on their (Susan, Zeke and Rachel) overseas holiday. Katya is non-committal, but when she feels she has cause to doubt Susan’s parenting style, she wonders if she should go along to keep her eye on things. Susan sits on this, and Katya’s continued power games, but when Katya alludes to the fact that there’s something still going on between Karl and Susan, and that Karl may have been negligent where Alex’s treatment was concerned, Susan finally takes her to task. Katya does realise she’s been cruel and her faith in Susan is restored. However, she can’t say the same about her faith in Karl Kennedy.
In an effort to get his life back on track and get into film school, Stingray launches into a filmmaking exercise based on happiness. When Zeke finds himself alone with the camera, he confides the reason for his silence – when his mother died, he wished his father dead instead.
Connor and Toadie continue to walk on eggshells around each other, both reluctant to make the first move. Stingray, in director mode, points out they can solve the secret to their unhappiness by simply restoring their friendship.
When Ned finds out that the leading lady in his play has broken her leg, he implores Elle to take over the part. Elle is very excited, but it soon becomes painfully obvious that Elle is a terrible, uncoordinated dancer. Ned knows he has to tell her and he’s dreading the task.

'Bad Samaritan'

Harold continues to enjoy tormenting Paul, becoming more reckless in his approach. After overhearing Izzy express concern that Paul’s anxiety attacks could escalate to something fatal, Harold is presented with his best opportunity yet to remove Paul from his life. Will Harold be able to resist temptation?
After Harold “accidentally” reveals Paul has been suffering anxiety attacks, Izzy becomes increasingly concerned. Desperate to reach Paul, Izzy questions how he is coping. In a rare display of vulnerability, Paul confesses he is frightened beyond belief. While he quickly back pedals, putting on a brave face for Izzy’s sake, it’s clear Paul’s façade is just that. Paul is a man falling apart.
Dylan launches into his first venture making use of Paul’s funding. When Dylan isn’t as successful as he had hoped, Stingray encourages his brother to invest in something he is passionate about. But what could that be?
An excited Elle prepares to audition for the lead female role in “Better Off Ned”. Will Ned tell Elle she has no dancing talent before it’s too late?

'Fear & Loafing & Lost Wages'

Izzy returns to find Paul crippled by fear and gets the distinct feeling that Harold is enjoying Paul’s pain. When she confides her suspicions to Max he dismisses them out of hand, but unbowed, she confronts Harold. Teetering on the brink of confessing all, Harold breaks down but Izzy misinterprets his emotion as simply grief for his lost family. Harold’s misdeeds remain undiscovered but his burden of guilt and self-loathing take a heavy toll.
Old tensions between Kim and Dylan flare again and Stingray appeals to his brother to give their Dad a break. With this in mind, Dylan takes Kim’s hint and decides to invest his 2K from Paul in Stingray’s film. But on a mission to buy Stingray a new computer with editing software, Kim suggests he and Dylan should stop off for a surf. Dylan’s concerned about the wad of cash from Paul but Kim is happy to leave it in the Kombi while they catch some waves. Disaster strikes when they emerge from the waves and the Kombi has been stolen.
Determined to raise funds to send Steph to a health resort, Lyn approaches Paul for work. Given his current affliction, her help is a godsend for Paul. But when Lyn is confronted with collecting a debt from a struggling single mum she finds her principles sorely tested. Will she turn to the dark side?

'Bad Boy Hubby'
Airs Thursday, March 23 2006 at 17:35 on BBC One

Harold, battling self-loathing, visits Paul in an attempt to make himself feel better about the things he’s done. But all Harold gets for his efforts is the realisation that he is as bad as Paul. This moment of clarity propels Harold to leave Erinsborough, in a quest to find himself again.
Max can no longer pretend that he agrees with Steph’s decision not to have treatment and he threatens to take matters into his own hands. When he fails to get Karl and other medicos on side, Max ends up in Toadie’s office, suggesting that he wants to force Steph legally to treat her cancer. Toadie advises against it, but when it seems to Max that Steph wants him to take the painful decision out of her hands, Max orders Toadie to put the wheels in motion to have Steph declared mentally incompetent.
Kim is hopeful that Janelle may get an advance from her publisher and therefore give him the means to pay Dylan back the money stolen at the beach. One problem for Kim (who has only read the edited version of Janelle’s book) is that the book is too boring and he asks Janelle to spice it up and turn the character based on him into a less sympathetic character. Janelle, who was worried how she’d hide the real draft from Kim, can’t believe her good fortune. The publisher does not agree to an advance, however, but she clearly thinks the book, and its author, have great potential. But is Janelle prepared to have a “make-over” to achieve it?
Connor does such a good job screening Toadie’s more boring clients that the law practice ends up with no clients at all. Toadie decides it’s time to do a bit of ambulance chasing.

'The Ex File'
Airs Friday, March 24 2006 at 17:35 on BBC One

Despite Toadie’s rejection of the plan to have Steph declared medically incompetent, Max remains torn. Meanwhile, Lyn makes a disturbing realisation - Steph is ready and willing to martyr herself for the baby. Max insists that Steph deep down wants the treatment but would never wilfully harm the baby - it’s up to him to make sure she is protected, no matter what. But when Max brings a psychiatrist home to talk to Steph, things get ugly. Feeling utterly betrayed, Steph throws him out of the house. Max, fearing that he’s blown his marriage, turns to Lyn for comfort - he simply can’t stand by and let his wife die.
While working at the surgery, Boyd discovers that Mike Pill has recently received a frightening diagnosis. Boyd fears Janae might have contracted the disease from Mike and fishes for information on how far Janae went with her ex. Ashamed of her past behaviour, Janae lies and says she and Mike only pashed. Boyd’s profound relief at this makes Janae suspicious and she sneaks into the surgery to find out what motivated Boyd’s questions. Janae is horrified by what she finds - could she be infected too?
When Toadie dons an apron and helps Connor out at the Store they soon slip back into their old matey bickering ways. Karl points out that Toadie and Connor sound an awful lot like the General Store’s traditional odd couple - Harold and Lou. The guys are comically horrified but the comparison does make them reflect the state of their friendship. Toadie asks Connor to move back to Number Thirty and Connor accepts - old friends reunited.
