Found this on Walford Web:

According to the We Love Telly magazine that comes free with The Mirror he is set to join EastEnders. Now this is one man I would love to see in the show so I do hope its true.

He played Barry Grant in Brookside and Des in The Bill.

From Brookie to Enders

Could ex-brookiie star Paul Usher be joining Eastenders? We hear a host of new characters are arriving in Walford this year, which could explain why Paul - who played brilliant baddie Barry Grant - stopped one of our spies recently to ask for directions to Elstree studios, where the soap is filmed. We reckin he'd make a great enemy for the Mitchell boys!

Another new character? Why don't they just boot out Dot and Pauline and go for a new EE? :rolleyes:

Don't know him though, though I did watch Brookside for about a week ... :lol: It was dull lol :p So I don't remember him, but by what you guys say I guess he might be good...

Paul was brilliant as Barry Grant in Brookside let's hope he kicks the chuckle brothers asses good and proper

This would be great. He would make a great bad boy in EE and maybe some new rivalry for Grant and Phil. I hope this is true :)

cheers alan, you just dashed the one bit of happiness I wanted in Ee. Paul is a fab actor both in brookie and the Bill and I would have loved to see him in Eastender and not some of those celebs wannabe like Chantelle and Preston..
