'Us Against The World'
Airing Monday, 6th March 2006 at 17:35 on BBC One

Susan assures Rachel that she will care for her and Zeke when Alex is gone, but Rachel finds this cold comfort and she responds by running away in anger, before trashing the Christmas tree. As Zeke clings onto his father for dear life, Alex is very worried that Rachel’s reaction mirrors that of Katya’s, who went off the rails when her mother died. Rachel receives a phone call with the news that Katya has been spotted and she determines to find her so that the three of them can look after each other.
Izzy blames herself for Elle’s dead-end predicament with Ned, so she tries to compensate by being more of a perfect mother figure than ever. Paul offers words of support, but Izzy determines to undo the damage she created and she talks some sense into Ned. As it happens, Ned’s reluctance to commit to Elle has more to do with his own inferiority complex and, when he approaches her and asks Elle for help learning his script, it would appear that Ned has started to let his romantic guard down.
Bree is devastated that, in trying to turn Summer and Rachel against each other, they’ve turned against her. Summer in turn is deeply hurt, but the two girls (with not a little help from their fathers) finally bury the hatchet. When an unwitting Bree goes for the same result with Rachel, she is met with an angry rejection. Having learnt that Rachel’s father is dying, Summer and Bree try to offer comfort and support but they’re both coldly rejected.

'In Sickness & In Health'
Airing Tuesday, 7th March 2006 at 17:35 on BBC One
With Alex's condition deteriorating, Rachel and Zeke sneak off to find Katya. The kids are happily reunited with their sister but, despite their pleas, she feels too much resentment to see her father again. Meanwhile, Alex takes a turn for the worse and Susan, unwilling to leave Alex's side, begs Karl to find the kids before it's too late. Karl does so, informing Rachel and Zeke that its time to come home and say goodbye to their father. Unseen by her siblings, Katya overhears Karl's words and is moved to tears. Alex is reunited with his kids and Zeke lies, telling Alex that the search for Katya was unsuccessful, in order to save his father's feelings. Unbeknownst to them, Katya has made it to Ramsay Street but still can't bring herself to confront her father. Karl urges her to make peace with Alex now or she'll live to regret it. Will she take his advice?
Katya faces Alex at last. Although confronted by the sight of her sick father, she can’t let go of the past easily. Alex accepts Katya’s anger but urges her to forgive him, if only for her own sake.
Elle gives Ned reading lessons using Gino's script and it soon becomes apparent that the female romantic lead in the musical of Ned's life is based on Elle. What's more, Gino has used his artistic licence to get the characters together. Life imitates art as the lessons get steamy and Ned finally summons the courage to act on his feelings.
Bree and Summer agree to provide Rachel with an alibi when she is searching for Katya but when Karl is racing against the clock to find the Kinski kids, Bree is forced to break her "no-dobbing" vow.
