Jack is engraged with the Kings

Jack is convinced that the Kings dumped the antifreeze that contaminated their water, and along with Andy he shows the environmental officer around. Later that day, Matthew is a picture of innocence as he gives the officer the run of the site. The officer takes samples from a ditch away for testing, but he later tells Andy that he doesn’t hold much hope. Jack is sure the Kings have got away with it, and later in the pub he confronts Matthew, demanding he tells the truth about the antifreeze. Will Matthew confess?
Meanwhile, Tom gets a call from Sadie and he angrily tells her that he wants her and her horse out of their lives for good. Edna wonders if they should tell Matthew about Sadie’s impending visit, but will Tom choose to keep his son in the dark?
Elsewhere, Betty visits Steph and tells her that Turner needs her. She begs Steph not to let her father down. After some serious thought, will Steph decide to drop the charges against Terence?
Andy receives some shocking news

As payback for getting away scot-free yesterday, Andy and Daz break into the Kings’ development site office and get to work at destroying everything. Later that day, Matthew finds Jack and congratulates the Sugden clan on having the last laugh by trashing the office. Jack is horrified to learn that the boys have been up to no good and heads up to Butler’s Farm to confront them.
Meanwhile, Betty susses that Turner’s lonely at Holdgate and persuades Steph and Adam to help get him back into Keeper’s where he belongs. Turner is surprised when Steph turns up to persuade him to move house, but he is disappointed when she makes it clear that she still isn’t ready to forgive him. Moving into Keeper’s, Turner hopes to Betty that he and his daughter will be able to restore their relationship one day, but is it beyond repair?
Later that day, the police inform Andy that Katie has been in a serious car accident which has killed her father. Horrified, he heads off to the hospital where he is shaken to see his estranged wife in a coma.
Andy patiently waits for Katie to wake up

After a night spent at Katie’s bedside the nurse assures Andy that Katie’s chances of survival are good. However, he is terrified when the alarm suddenly goes off and Katie is rushed to theatre. After a tense few hours Katie comes back to the ward and eventually she wakes up. Katie is not sure where she is or what’s going on, but seeing Andy she is glad to see a friendly face. With memories returning to her, Katie asks after her dad and Andy gently tells her that he died in the car crash. Devastated at the news, Katie breaks down and clings to her husband.
Elsewhere, the Kings have a new temp at the office, and the pretty girl makes her feelings for Matthew clear. Flirty Zara asks Matthew if he has anyone special in his life, but it is clear that he is thinking of Sadie and brushes Zara off.
Meanwhile, Turner visits Steph with a business proposal to get guests on country breaks to stay at the B&B and undertake activities at Home Farm. Turner thinks it’s a great opportunity for them both, stressing he needs her on board as his partner. Will Steph agree to work with her father?
Carl learns that an old face is returning

Carl discovers that Sadie is coming to collect her horse Cossack tomorrow, and although he feels uneasy about keeping Matthew in the dark, Tom convinces him that it is for the best. Worried about a chance meeting between Sadie and Matthew, Tom invites Matthew and Carl to a golf tournament the following day. Will this be enough to keep Matthew and Sadie apart?
Over at the hospital, Katie is tearful as she tells Andy that the police have admitted they are still drawing blanks in trying to track her mum down. Katie fears for her future, worried about facing it alone. Comforting her, Andy promises to be there for her.
Meanwhile, Louise is perturbed when Martin brings in an exercise bike and puts it in the Woolpack backroom. Diane tells Louise she doesn’t want to get showered with sweat every time she goes out the back and, as Louise agrees, she uses Diane as an excuse when she tells Martin that it has to go. Much to Louise’s horror, Martin moves the bike into their bedroom!
Matt comes face to face with Sadie

Matthew becomes suspicious when his father makes excuses to get out of playing golf, and Carl eventually tells him that Sadie is coming to collect her horse. Matthew rushes to Home Farm and arrives just in time to see Sadie leading Cossack out of the stable. Matthew spots an engagement ring on Sadie’s finger and, convinced she’s wearing it to wind him up, he tells her to stop playing games. Matthew is astonished when a car pulls up containing Alasdair, Sadie’s fiancé. Is this really the end for Matthew and Sadie?
Over at the hospital, a nurse jokes that Katie is lucky to have such a doting admirer. Both Katie and Andy insist that she’s got the wrong end of the stick, but as they dismiss the nurse’s faux pas, it becomes clear that they are both denying their true feelings.
Sadie shows off her new fiancé

Matthew and Jimmy are invited to dinner at Oakwell Hall and both are shocked to see Sadie there with her new fiancé. Matthew is certain that Sadie just wants to get one over on him, but during a private chat she is adamant that she and Alasdair are serious. During a heated argument, Matthew instinctively goes to kiss Sadie, but they are interrupted by the arrival of Alasdair. Both cover quickly, but Sadie enjoys Matthew’s unease as she pointedly invites him to their wedding.
Elsewhere, Carl admits to Shadrach that he’d like to marry Chas, but as he’s tried proposing before he knows he needs to think of a different way to pop the question. Later that day, Chas finds Carl with a video camera, but what could he be up to?
Over at the hospital, Chas visits Katie, and as Katie receives a text message, she admits to Chas that it is from her boyfriend. She explains that they were splitting up on the night of the accident, and he knows nothing about her current whereabouts. Chas is worried Katie might be holding back because of Andy, and warns that falling back into his arms is a bad idea
