Izzy and Paul rush to the hospital, where tests confirm they have contact poison in their systems, courtesy of the letter Izzy found on her windscreen. Paul’s condition improves, but he is fearful for the safety of Elle and Izzy. When Izzy finally stabilises, she points out that as she received both letters from the offender, she’s obviously the target. Karl puts paid to that theory and angrily puts it to Paul that if he cares for his loved ones, he will get himself out of town.

Having realised that Jake is Susan’s crank caller, Rachel confronts the boy, before fleeing in fear. Jake catches up with Rachel and, when she realises that he is genuinely sorry for making the calls, she softens towards him. Alex, who has been searching for Rachel with Zeke, Susan and Bree, comes across the pair and carts Jake off to the police. At home, an over-protective Alex admonishes Rachel and forbids her from dating. Susan can’t hide that she thinks Alex is over-reacting and Alex announces that he will not let a daughter go off the rails again. Susan queries and Alex manages to cover, but his slip is enough to let the Susan wonder if there is a skeleton in this family’s closet. Is there another Kinski daughter?

When Stuart continues to tease Ned over his singing and dancing aspirations, Elle encourages Ned to stand up to his big brother. When Ned continues to wear Stuart’s taunts, Elle takes Stuart to task.

When Zeke dobs on Rachel to Alex, Bree finds herself put off by Zeke’s goody-two-shoes ways. She warns him that, unless he smartens up, he’ll find himself dropped.

Will both Timmins boys end up inside?

Airing Friday, 10th February 2006 at 17:35 on BBC One

Harold’s friends and neighbours show their support by helping cater for the Bishop wake, and fond memories of David and Lil are shared. At the Salvation Army memorial service, Susan, Sky and Harold pay tribute to the Bishops and Harold plays his tuba as a last farewell to his family. Harold manages to keep a lid on his grief all day.

Connor is homeless. Cold, hungry and alone, he clings to the last token of his old life – a happy-snap of Serena. After paying a clandestine visit to the Bishop memorial, Connor returns to his anonymous life on the street.

The funeral brings Joe and Lyn closer than ever, but Lyn’s objections to a relationship without marriage remain strong. To avoid losing her, Joe bypasses his own principles and proposes. Their announcement is met with joy by almost everyone – Sky, Steph and Max have quiet reservations.

Karl is nervous about his first Internet-Matchmaker date but he’s delighted to meet and hit it off with Jenny, an attractive and lively woman with plenty of common interests.

Jealous of Sky’s bond with Kim and Boyd, Janae lashes out at Sky for her criticisms of Dylan. Boyd’s priority is to comfort Sky and Janae reacts with anger, presuming he and Sky are back on together. But when Boyd calls her on her insensitivity, a thoughtful, mature Janae emerges. She apologises to Sky and puts the breaks on her fast-moving intimate relationship with Boyd – she’s very much in love and wants things to be perfect.
