It's crazy that he should go out with Sarah, when he claims to be in love with Violet. Sarah is childish and immature, she is also very young and naive. I can't believe she can be so blind not to see that Jason doesn't care about her, the way she wants him to. She's an idiot, she should go and find somebody who will treat her the way that anybody deserves to be treated.
And Eileen hit the nail right on the head when she told Jason that Violet was the best thing that had ever happened to him. He is following a lot of what Charlie does, and it is not good for him. He definetely needs to pull away from him. And to stop relying on him for advice with women. Not a good plan, at all.
