advice to stop smoking

My sister in law is pregnant with her first child and is having trouble giving up cigarettes - has anyone been through this and have any advice?

They work if you are don't get an alergic reaction to them but I am not sure if you can use them during pregnancy.. it is has nicotine

I dont think you can use the patches when your pregnant

My sister was told by the doc not to stop compeltly cause by the time you find out your pregnant the baby is already hooked on the nicotine and it can cause the baby distress if you just suddenly stop. He also said that the best thing to do is just to cut down to 3 or 4 a day

that is good advise.. it is what i did.. I tried to stop but with the hormones and mood swings, it was best to stay smoking...
