More Corrie overkill on the way

Corrie overkill is happening again next week (and possibly the week after etc). There are additional episodes at 10pm next Monday and Wednesday (and possibly next Friday) to coincide with the return of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. FFS I hope this stops soon. I'm fed up of ITV treating their soaps like crud. :angry:

By running the Corrie episodes at ridiculous times to promote I'm a Z rate celeb type programs is plain daft.

Well the new head of Porgramming is supposed to arrive in January I think. He has hinted he may cut back on the number of episodes for both Emmerdale and Corrie which is a good thing. I hope he will also stop this horrific overkill of Corrie in ridiculous slots as you say which just props up a silly reality TV show.

Yeah but come on guys, it's not often that 'Im a celebrity...' is on, one fortnight a year, that's all! Corrie's on all year round!

Won't they lose a lot of viewers on those nights,because it's a starnge time to watch Corrie,and a lot of people will probably be watching something else,or the younger people who watch Corrie will probably not be allowed to watch it at that time.

Well I still think it is ridiculous.

As for normal weeks I would like the second Monday ep dropped and the Sunday ep possibly dropped as well (though the latter is unlikely).

Yes the share and audience will be well down for 10:00 compared to 7:30.

She looks like a child sometimes. Sometimes she looks OK, sometimes she looks like a 10 year old. I like her when she does dramatic stuff, but other than that Tina O'Brian is quite limited in her acting skills imo. I hope she disappears soon, with a happy ending. Perhaps find Mr Right and move away etc.

Me too. I want it to go back to that. I actually remember watching it when it was just twice a week on a Monday and a Wednesday. I did welcome the third episode though when it was introduced and still think 3 per week is a fine amount. Remember, less means more. :)

It's about 8 or 9 years since Corrie went 4x a week. :eek:

There's definitely no need for it to be on twice on a Monday. Nothing much ever happens in the second episode anyway!!

Actuallty I've found the second Monday ep better than the first on a lot of occasions in recent months. The first one has seemed a bit slow and weak but is dramatically better in the second episode. Still vital they drop the 8:30 though.
