The owen storyline

Ok, im probably gonna sound really stupid here if im the only one :( but is anybody else a bit confused about the storyline with Sam, n his dad, n everything :confused: can somebody briefly explain why they dont get on and why sam was in prison, I know it had something to do with a fire but im just not really sure about it all :confused: thanx! :)

sam went to prison because his girlfriend then started a fire or some thing and it killed her brother but everyone blamed sam the girlsfriends dad.
And when he went to jail and the trial and everything sams dad turned his back on him and now he is out he has come bak and wants to make things up to him but sam does nt want to.
