I thought he just left as well. He left Jack in charge to go and see his dad or some one who is ill or dead, his dad or who ever owns a farm and he ran the farm for them. He really liked the farm and the style of life and he wanted to move up there perminantly with the family, but lin didn't want to and Jack had lost the business, so there was no money. Lin and Joe split up. How could he have got sacked from his own business?

I heard that the alcoholic thing and he was always turning up drunk and scenes had to be re-shot because he fluffed lines and that he picked fights with people on set.

he had a massive arguement with the director that went on for ages. Anyway, after one arguement he lost it and was asked 2 leave.
