Due to the new series of Nick Park's Creature Comforts, Emmerdale has been moved FORWARD 10 minutes on Sunday night's to 6:50pm for the next few weeks (Creature Comforts starts at 7:20).

*NB: Corrie is unaffected.

I just wished the axed the episode altogether.

Why don't they put Creature Comforts on at 6.50? Then Emmerdale wouldn't be affected. :searchme:

Thanks for telling us :)

I agree Jemma, it is a bit dumb. Whats the point? It just confuses us, or rather me.... :D

I guess they want to put the show on straight before Corrie, as this is ITV1's (still) flagship programme and not Emmerdale. This might also suggest that the Sunday Emmerdale episode is soon on the way out, as I've heard whispers from ITV that the new Head of Programming wants to either cut back or alter (probably the former) soap output. It wouldn't be a bad idea to drop the Emmerdale Sunday ep asap as the last two weeks it has performed woefully - 34.5% Sunday 16th, and last Sunday 33.2% share which is less than a third!

Just thought I'd bump this up for the benefit of people who don't know about tonight's changes. :)

No problem. Just in case people didn't catch the reminder on Friday night's end credits. :)

they should put Creature Comforts on before Emmerdale would work out better for the fans

see post 4 for my explanation on why they have possibly done this. :)

I agree. Maybe while they're at it they should also drop the eps shown on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! Wouldnt that be a good idea!

Though seriously I would like to see them cut down to 4 a week. The Sunday ep must go NOW. :nono:

Nah i love my Emmerdale fix, cant get enough of it

Nah 6 episodes is too much. Less means more Charlie. Less episodes means storylines are less stretched out, less silly 'filler' storylines, worn out actors can put more effort into less episodes = better quality.

I still love it :)

Hey, I'm not knocking it. For me it's best easily the best soap of the 'big three' for a few months now, and to maintain its quality 6 times a week is an incredible effort. However the bubble has to burst eventually, and to minimalise that impact it is best to cut down on the number of weekly transmissions from the Yorkshire dales. If you think Emmerdale is great at the moment, imagine all that quality compacted into less episodes - that would make the episodes outstanding. :)

No Emmerdale episode this Sunday (18th), possibly due to xmas/permanent axing of the Sunday episode(?). Instead there will be a brand new Coronation Street Family Album show (see here (http://www.soapboards.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=275050#post275050) for details).

Sorry once again for the short notice.

I'm not sure if the review of prime-time ITV soap output has been sorted yet for the New Year, so this may be a permanent axe, but chances are the schedule will revert back to normal again in January 2006.
