Coronation Street will see a series of romantic liaisons this Chritsmas, all involving the street's older generation.


Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) is set to romance Keith Appleyard (Ian Redford) after the two share a candlelit meal and a few glasses of wine.


The two enjoy a passionate kiss and Audrey ends up staying for the night.


Elsewhere, butcher Fred Elliot (John Savident) falls for Shelley's mum Bev (Susie Blake).


A Corrie insider told The Daily Star: "Fred will think all his Christmases have come at once when Bev eventually leads him to bed."
