Neighbours star Blair McDonough will quit the Aussie soap to try an acting career in the UK.

McDonough, who shot to fame in the Australian Big Brother, becomes the latest in a series of actors and actresses to make the journey from down under to British shores.

Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia and Holly Valance are but three names in a long list that has enjoyed success following stints in Australian soap operas.

Like many who went before him McDonough will start out in British pantomime, after landing a part as buttons in a production of Cinderella.

A spokesperson for the star said: "Other avenues will be explored when we get there."

McDonough has spent four years as Stuart Parker on Neighbours.

stu and sindi married a few months ago on austrailian screens (about 2 weeks before sindi left ramsay street)

yeah they get married but whilst on honeymoon stu witnesses sindi pushing toadie down a flight of stairs and everything that she has done comes out. she is commited to a psych ward

no prolems i can understand here these questions come from as i know that the actor that plays him is/has left i have read the recent reports that the actor is moving to the uk next month so i presume that is when he is filming his final scenes. he will prob leave on oz screens early next yr i would imagine.
why they didnt just write out sindi and stu together as a happily married couple moving to pastures new is behond me though instead of inventing this psyco sindi rubbish that had never even been hinted at before
