After a couple of weeks of disturbing behavour irene is diagnosed with schizophenia. but the TRUTH is irene doesnt really have it. bear with me because it gets really complicated.
When the mentally unbalanced woman fails to return home after dark, her loved ones go out in search for her. Martha and corey search for her too.
this is the interesting part, Corey is a young police officer who comes to summer bay and gets envolved in a relationship with Martha. But there is something more creepy about Corey (explained later).
A worried barry is about to call the police when irene walks in with a gashed arm, he takes her to the hospital where a phsyciatrist (spelled wrong) explains that irenes behaviour points to schizophenia note they don't do proper tests.
Later as corey makes irene a hot cup of hot chocolate he puts a small spoonfull of mercury poison into her drink. this explains her odd behaviour.
the reason corey is doing this is because, the man who was sent to prison when irene was on jury duty commited suicide in prison and he is coreys father so he blames it on irene, i dont know why her though because she wasn't the only one on the jury.
