Coronation Street heart-throb Rupert Hill, who plays Jamie Baldwin, won't be leaving the show after landing a £65,000-a-year deal to stay on in Weatherfield.
26-year-old Hill was reported to be quitting the show the go on tour with his indie band Shepherd's Pye, giving up acting for his beloved guitar.
But an ITV insider told The Sun "Rupert loves his music and things are going really well for the band right now. Part of him would love to make that his main career.
"But when he was offered a new contract for Corrie it was a bit of a no-brainer. He'd be crazy to turn it down when his storylines are so massive.
"He is really happy at Coronation Street and happy to keep Shepherd's Pye as a hobby for now."
Jamie's Corrie stories will get bigger as the year draws to a close, with girlfriend Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) cheating on him with his dad, Danny (Bradley Walsh).
