Sunday, 4th September

Having spent the night on the Websters’ sofa - much to Sally’s disapproval - Nathan’s newly homeless status is confirmed when, whilst flirting with Tracy outside the garage, the pair are disturbed by the sound of tyres screeching to a halt on the forecourt. Nathan is stunned to be confronted by Farrah, who makes it clear that after another night home alone she is not prepared to continue with their relationship of landlady and part-time lover. She unceremoniously dumps all of Nathan’s belongings onto the cobbles and roars away. Unimpressed by what she has just witnessed, Tracy further adds to the mechanic’s woes when she also coldly dumps him. Homeless, alone and nursing a hangover from his boss’s birthday celebrations, Nathan faces the extra headache of finding lodgings. Knowing Sally’s objections, will Kevin be able to persuade her to once again take pity on their homeless employee?

Elsewhere, tired of defending his mother’s drunken behaviour to Leanne, Jaime reluctantly arranges for Carol to stay at a local bed and breakfast. Feeling guilty about his mother’s predicament, he gives her some money which his troubled mother promises not to spend on drink. However, a shame-faced Carol is mortified when Jaime and Leanne later catch her propping up the bar in the Rovers. Upset at seeing Jaime’s obvious disappointment in her, Carol tearfully heads for the door. Will Jaime stop her or are the mother and son about to become estranged once more?

Meanwhile, Gail is delighted at the prospect of finally going out on a date with Phil. The evening appears to be going well as the pair make small talk, but when the conversation turns to Gail’s past, she feels uncomfortable at Phil’s level of interest. Has the charming reflexologist got a hidden agenda concerning Gail and her family?

Also, there’s fun and games when the factory girls turn up to help Claire, Ashley and Emily clean up the local park. It appears the girls have no intention of getting their hands dirty and have come dressed to the nines in a bid to impress hunky horticulturalist Andrew. Disillusioned, Claire gets into an argument with Janice and it’s not long before the mudslinging - both verbal and physical - begins.

With recent events concerning baby Amy bringing mother and daughter closer together, Tracy and Deirdre plan to share lunch together. But when Tracy pops out for cakes, she leaves Deirdre looking after her granddaughter. All ready running behind, a desperate Deirdre turns to Steve to look after his daughter until Tracy returns. Heading out of the door and with Steve inside happily baby-sitting, a panic stricken Deirdre is met by the sight of Tracy heading back towards number one. How will her tempestuous daughter react to Deirdre’s choice of child-minder?

Shelley makes steps both mentally and physically when, joined by Zack, she ventures outside of the confines of Rovers in order to take Charlie his dinner. Although the journey is only short, it takes Shelley a great deal of courage to make the trip to the builders’ yard. She even overcomes a chance meeting with her mother in which the pair exchange pleasantries and Bev is forced to reluctantly congratulate Shelley on her recent engagement. However, Shelley’s confidence takes a dent when Charlie cruelly criticises her culinary efforts. The crushing put down is witnessed by a concerned Zack. Is the psychotherapist becoming wise to Charlie’s manipulations?

Elsewhere, Audrey, Sarah and David are horrified to hear Gail recount her previous evening’s encounter with Phil. They are stunned to hear about his passion for criminal psychology and subsequent fascination in events concerning Richard Hillman.

Meanwhile, Sally struggles to combine teaching Sophie at home, her work at Underworld and dealing with eldest daughter Rosie’s latest crush on lodger Nathan.

Also, Diggory Compton’s daughter, Molly, arrives on the street and quickly comes to the aid of a stressed out Maria.

Steve, meanwhile, seeks solace in the Rovers and sets about drowning his sorrows, completely forgetting about an important business meeting to finalise a new lucrative cab contract for Streetcars. With Steve AWOL in the pub, it’s left to new business partner Lloyd to attend the meeting. With he be able to secure the deal in Steve’s absence?

Elsewhere, Shelley’s slow recovery continues when she plans to pay Sunita a visit at the corner shop. Zack advises caution, explaining she mustn’t try to overstretch herself. Charlie also pours scorn on the idea, keen that Sunita and Shelley don’t rekindle their friendship. Will Shelley make the trip, and if so will her old best friend accept the olive branch being offered by Shelley?

Meanwhile, Mollycould be the answer to all Maria’s problems when she let’s slip that she really doesn’t like working at her father’s bakery and would love have a job working with dogs. Maria’s interest in Molly is further heightened she discovers that Fiz and Molly are enemies from their school days. After her recent spats with Fiz, minx Maria spots the opportunity to make mischief. But what exactly has she got planned?

Elsewhere, a frustrated Kevin and Sally concede that teaching daughter Sophie from home isn’t working out and they must find her a place at a proper school. Will Sally accept the place being offered at the school she considers to be second rate?

Wednesday, 7th September

Sally’s troubles with Sophie’s school place seem to be resolved when she spots the headmaster of Weatherfield comp dropping his own daughter off at the exclusive Oakhill private school. She challenges him and threatens to go to the local newspaper who she feels would be very interested to know where his daughter is educated. Has Sally finally won her battle to get Sophie a place at her favourite school?

It’s another frustrating day for Streetcars boss Steve. Firstly, he has to contend with new business partner Lloyd lording it over him at work reminding him that he won the business a new contract all on his own without Steve’s help. Secondly, the day of the court hearing between him and Tracy is looming and despite Claire’s best efforts to reassure him, Steve worries about the verdict. Will Steve be able to compose himself for the hearing tomorrow?

All their dirty laundry is brought out in public as both parents are cross examined by each other’s solicitor. The judge despairs at what he is forced to listen to. Deciding that the disruptive situation with Amy can no longer continue, he finally delivers his verdict. He is critical of both Steve and Tracy’s behaviour but which one of the warring parties does he rule in favour of?

Having set the date for their nuptials, Shelley and Charlie decide to hold a lunchtime celebration in honour of their impending union. Having invited all their friends, Zack reminds Shelley that someone has been left off the invite list: her mother, Bev. He advises her that the gathering would be a good opportunity to build some more bridges. A nervous Shelley wonders whether to make the call to Bev, and if she does will her mum want to give her blessing to a marriage she doesn’t agree with?

Meanwhile, Tyrone is impressed by Molly’s natural abilities around the kennels and unaware of the bad history between the girls, implores Fiz to try to make more of an effort with Molly.
