The 17th april

Steve offers to mind Amy on the day of Ray Langton’s funeral, but Tracy politely says she would rather not as she needs her daughter for company on the sad day. Some of the street’s residents go to the cemetery to say their farewells to Ray. It is a small and sombre affair, and as the guests leave, Tracy asks for a few minutes alone at his graveside. She cannot contain her grief any longer and the tears flow for the loss of her father. As she looks up she sees Steve walking towards her and there is a touching moment where he consoles her as she cries. Later on, Tracy pops round to Steve’s to say thank you for his support. Steve gently persuades her to stay for a drink and she puts Amy to sleep in the spare bed. They have a heart-to-heart – will one thing lead to another for the star-crossed couple?

Over at the Platts’, Craig is feeling a bit brighter having stayed with David for the night. But when a tearful Martin arrives with the unfortunate news that Katys’ condition has deteriorated, Craig is even more distraught.

And elsewhere, Candice is plotting her pathway to fame and fortune. As Sean arrives at the salon to prepare for a hot date he met on the internet, Candice practises her ‘unique’ interviewing technique on her baffled colleagues, and Sean gives as good at he gets with the ditsy hairdresser!

The episode begins with Tracy waking up in Steve’s arms, blissfully happy after their evening together. He kisses her on the cheek and tentatively leaves for work, but when he arrives he gets a grilling from Eileen and mum Liz. And in a mirror image, at No.1 Coronation Street, Blanche is disgusted that Tracy has stayed over at Steve’s again and shouts that he has taken complete advantage of her at her most vulnerable. Tracy tries to defend him but Blanche’s harsh words stick in her mind. She starts to believe that Steve will stand her up in the Rovers tonight because the night before meant nothing to him. Will Steve go to the pub to seek out Tracy, or will he write off their romantic liaison as a one-night stand?

The 19th april

In the police station, a drained Angela pleads with DI Pinnock to let her go and see her daughter. He tells her that a trip to the hospital is not so simple and that Katy’s suicide letter doesn’t actually prove anything as she could be lying to protect her mother. Angela’s hopes are completely shattered. So even though she desperately tells the police about the possibility of Katy’s prints being on the infamous wrench, she breaks down and cries with the sheer enormity of recent events.

Candice still has her heart set on being a weather girl and is convinced she is set for stardom. The Baldwins settle down for the evening to watch ‘Candy’ practise her moves around a weather map. In hilarious scenes, she fails to get the hang of UK geography and leaves everybody in stitches of laughter, except proud boyfriend Warren

The 19th of april

Now that Fred has decided to sell the Rovers, Charlie and Shelley are buzzing with plans to refurbish the pub. Violet and Ciaran are quite worried about keeping their jobs, but Shelley assures them they will be fine. But when Ciaran innocently suggests some style ideas, Charlie ridicules him and abruptly sends him away. But later on, Violet and Ciaran tentatively discuss just how big Charlie’s influence is becoming over Shelley.

Angela is still languishing in her cell. Her solicitor comes to visit and tries to explain that getting permission from the prison governor to see Katy can take time. But Angela’s pleas are finally heard, and she is taken to visit her daughter. How will she react when she sees Katy so terribly poorly?

And in the Rovers, Kelly tries her charms on Steve again, but he is more interested in listening into Tracy and Nathan’s conversation nearby. Tracy catches on to this and exploits the fact that she and Nathan are getting on well by brazenly asking him to go on a weekend away with her and Amy. How will confused Steve react to Tracy’s mind games?

And in Audrey’s garden, Fred samples the fruits of his labour. Will the ’pure’ water be crystal clear

The 20th of april

Craig goes to visit his seriously ill sister Katy in hospital, and comes face to face with his mum for the first time since learning the real truth behind his father’s murder. He wants answers, and Angela tries to console him gently, pleading with him to stay with Katy. Craig finds the courage inside him to enter the intensive care room. Katy looks terrible, wired up to the life support machine, but Craig attempts to talk to her. The poor boy begs his big sister to wake up but the life support machine alarm suddenly goes off. Bewildered and unable to speak, Craig, Martin and Keith try to say their heartfelt goodbyes to Katy as she sadly passes away.

Back in the Rovers living room, Shelley and Charlie excitedly discuss their surveyor’s report on the pub. Shelley gushes to Charlie that she cannot wait to buy the pub with him, and that all her dreams are coming true.

Over in the salon, Candice is singing her own praises to anyone who will listen about her weather girl rehearsal at the Baldwins’. Maria teases her, but Candice is convinced it’s just jealousy on her part. But attention is suddenly turned to Betty when Candice accidentally turns up the heat on Betty’s drier and burns her scalp! After a laborious day, Audrey has finally had enough of Candice’s constant boasting and skiving, so sacks her on the spot. What will Candice’s reaction be?

The shockwaves reverberate through the street as everyone tries to come to terms with the terrible news of Katy's tragic death.

The factory girls are stunned but Janice, for one, believes that Angela is to blame for everything that has happened and feels no sympathy at all. Martin, meanwhile, is determined to blame himself and tells Ashley that he feels guilty for ruining Katy's life.

In her prison cell, Angela can hardly take in everything that has happened and begs her father to take care of Craig and help her to see Katy one last time.

Elsewhere, Fred is still feeling the effects of drinking form Audrey's well and realises why when the man from the water board breaks the news that the water is not the fountain of youth but something far less healthy!

As the factory girls take in the news of Katy's death, they hardly notice that Sean is acting even more strangely than usual. No one really notices when he asks to leave early but back at the Grimshaws’, Eileen, Jason and Violet are amazed when he reveals that he has an interesting new job, and costume!

The 22nd april

With the well proving to be little more than a smelly hole in the ground, Fred has to break the news to Shelley that he won't be selling the Rovers after all. Shelley is disappointed and, yet again, Charlie does his level best to make her feel even worse.

As Ken and Deirdre arrive back from honeymoon, Blanche can hardly wait to fill them in on the gossip about Steve and Tracy. Tracy is still regretting her night with Steve and tells Deirdre that despite still having feelings for him, she thinks it is time to move on.

Craig is really struggling to cope with the events of the past month and finds it difficult to talk to his grandad. Martin is surprised when the young lad turns up on his doorstep but is happy to lend him a shoulder to cry on. Martin realises how much Craig misses Tommy and suggests to Keith that they all go and visit the grave. But as they arrive at the cemetery they make a gruesome discovery.

Elsewhere, Audrey is stunned when she reads Candice's article in the Weatherfield Gazette and vows never to take her back on at the salon.

Meanwhile, Sean tells the factory girls about his new job

Sean can hardly wait for his debut at the bingo hall and with all his friends and colleagues to cheer him along, what could possibly go wrong? As the girls wait for the bingo to start, Vera gets increasingly upset as she sees her one pleasure in life being hijacked by a gang of rowdy machinists. Sean proves himself to be a natural, but as Vera starts to lose out on the prize money to Fiz and the gang, she smells a rat and complains - with surprising consequences!

Candice's appearance in the Weatherfield Gazette has resulted in some rather dodgy fan mail. Naive Candice is convinced she is the next Ulrika, but in a bid to make some cash while she waits for the offers to come flooding in, she has invited one of her new 'fans' to the flat for a haircut. How will Audrey react when she discovers what her ex-employee is up to above the salon?

Keith is doing his best to comfort Craig and convince him that once the police discover what really happened, Angela will be able to come home. He tries to persuade the youngster to go out with his mates but Craig's world has crashed around his ears and he can't face leaving the house.

Elsewhere, Steve finds himself in an awkward situation in the pub when he finds Liz with Deirdre and Tracy.
