DS Mickey Webb now works for the National Crime Squad :cheer: , and he returns to Sun Hill with intelligence that suggests DI Neil Manson is corrupt. Neil’s wife, Philippa, is barrister for the prosecution on a big laundering case, and Mickey has pictures of Neil meeting with a key witness who is now refusing to talk. Mickey tells DCI Jack Meadows about Neil’s affair with PC Andrea Dunbar. With Neil’s professional credibility undermined, will Jack believe the claims?
Elsewhere, DS Ramani De Costa’s works on a domestic violence case in which the wife’s statement goes missing. Consequently Ramani makes mistakes when interviewing the husband and has to release him on bail. First a diary, now a statement… Ramani wonders whether Margaret Barnes is behind the disappearances, and has a quick rifle through Margaret’s bag when she thinks no one is looking. Later, Ramani is nearly attacked by the husband outside a women’s refuge, and Margaret comes to her rescue. Is it purely coincidence that Margaret happened to be driving past, or is Ramani deeply paranoid? :searchme:
Meanwhile DS Samantha Nixon and DC Terry Perkins are led on a wild goose chase by serial rapist Alan Kennedy who, after the kidnap of Brenda, now seems to have gone after second victim Nina. Kennedy sets a trap for Sam, and she is lured into an abandoned warehouse and held at knifepoint. Is Sam about to become the next rape victim? :eek:
And PC Lance Powell works with Trident on the Cole Lance Estate murder. Adi Mateen is causing him consternation…
