Jamie has spent the night at Leanne’s, but Janice is finding the flat a little too crowded so she complains to them both then leaves for the day. Leanne cannot convince Jamie to go back home but he is angry and hurt by the previous night’s events. Danny comes over to try and make peace with his son, but ends up making things worse by starting another row. Later on Jamie decides he never wants to go back to the Baldwins’ and asks his cheating girlfriend to move in with him!

Meanwhile, Sean picks up Schmeichel and quizzes Kirk on everything he knows about Tim the vet. But when Sean and Fiz arrive at the surgery, Sean is completely dumbstruck and unable to converse with the handsome vet. Even when Fiz tries to get Sean to speak, it’s no use, and he leaves none the wiser as to Tim’s sexuality.

And over at Elliott’s butchers, Fred is in training for his fight with Maddocks - using the side of a pig. But he needs a real person to train and Ashley thinks that Diggory would be a good sparring partner. But during a trial, Diggory knocks Fred out in the first round! Will the fight still go ahead?

Troubled Shelley is still hiding away in the Rovers bedroom. Charlie tries to gently coax her out by telling her if she goes downstairs he’ll take her out for a meal tonight and then maybe they can ‘resume service in the bedroom department’. She is worried by this, as she knows she can’t go through with seeing anyone or doing anything. Later on, Ciaran and Violet fall out because Charlie asks Violet to write next week’s rota, but Fred cuts them dead and tells them that he will be the one making all the decisions. Charlie overhears this and goes upstairs. His manner is threatening as he gets angry with Shelley for not wanting to go downstairs and face anyone. Will down-trodden Shelley ever be able to show her face in the Rovers again?

Jamie continues to try and get a decision from Leanne on moving into their own place. He tells her that he loves her, but Janice is suspicious that she could be seeing someone else, and warns her not to say yes unless she is really sure it’s the right thing to do. Leanne knows that moving in with Jamie will mean her affair with Danny would have to end. Who is more important to Leanne?

And now that she has got her license, Claire asks Steve for a job. Lloyd gives her some driving tips and Steve agrees that she can start straight away!

Shelley listens meekly as Fred reads her the riot act with Charlie looking on. She tries to reason with him and although it’s plain to see Fred cares about her, he is stern with her and demands she see a doctor. Later that night, Charlie and Violet are clearing up the bar. Shelley can hear talking from her bedroom and sits on the stairs. She listens to Charlie talking about her and the fact that she can’t make it out of her bedroom door, and he jokes to Violet that if she has to start taking pills he will leave her. Poor Shelley is devastated and sobs silently on the stairs.

Over at the Peacocks’, Ashley comes home from work and tells Fred that he has arranged to fight Marvin Maddocks. Fred is thrilled at the prospect but Ashley is worried about what Claire’s opinion will be. Will he be able to talk his wife round?

Also, Janice is still wondering just why Leanne doesn’t want to move in with Jamie, and presses her on the subject. Meanwhile, after hearty meal with step mum Frankie, Jamie arranges to meet his girlfriend at the Rovers and tells her that it’s too cramped at Janice’s so he is going to go back to the Baldwins’.

Wednesday, 6th July
In the Rovers bedroom, Shelley decides to try and make an effort with her appearance. She pulls her hair back and starts to experiment with make up, and ties a bright scarf round her neck, ‘Violet-style’. She is frustrated by her appearance and Charlie doesn’t help by making flippant remarks. As she is too scared to make it into the pub, Shelley sits spying on the stairs and watches Jason come in and be served by Violet. She waves his money away which enrages Shelley who flies down the stairs and screams at her for ‘making cow-eyes at my Charlie’. Violet is horrified by Shelley’s accusations but Charlie overhears this and orders Shelley to apologise. She does and skulks back upstairs. At the end of the evening, Charlie walks Violet home and turns on the silky Stubbs charm. Will Violet succumb?

Elsewhere in Weatherfield, Lloyd picks up two boys who soon turn his taxi shift into a nightmare. They start to bang on the car window and generally cause trouble, until Lloyd has a brainwave as to how to calm them down.

And over in the Peacocks’, the day starts badly when Josh is sick and Claire sits on her glasses! Ashley and Claire go to buy some new ones, but when they get back they tell Fred they saw the Maddockses, and called the fight off.

Friday, 8th July
Steve is shocked and amazed when he sees Tracy pull up in a taxi with Amy. He rushes over and Tracy is welcoming to him at first but then she tells him to get lost and slams the front door in his face! Later on, in number one Coronation Street, Tracy tells Ken and Deirdre that she has only come back to wreak revenge on the man who has scorned her.

And in the Rovers, Charlie tries to get close to Shelley again but as usual she clams up. She tells him that he will be all right tonight and leaves him full of anticipation. Later that evening he sidles up to her and tries to seduce her but she freezes and asks him to hold her. Charlie is frustrated and tells her he is going out, and leaves poor Shelley crying to herself as he marches out of the door.

Over in the butcher’s shop, Fred is moaning to Ashley about their poor sales. Marvin Maddocks comes in and starts to wind Ashley up by calling Claire names and this enrages Ashley. He threatens to knock Marvin’s block off for disrespecting his wife, and although Fred manages to pull them apart Ashley vows to finish him off in a boxing ring.
