As new nurse Rita prepares to leave home for her first shift in the Holby ED, she is stopped in her tracks as her flat's ceiling caves in. Heading upstairs, Rita soon discovers the reason for the collapse - her neighbour's hoarding has gotten out of control.
Finding her neighbour in distress, Rita is forced to meet some of her colleagues - the hospital's paramedics Jeff and Dixie - sooner than she thought.
Meanwhile, a robbery at a breaker's yard goes badly wrong, and when a key witness runs, police become suspicious. As he enters the ED for treatment, Jamie takes it upon himself to get to the bottom of what really happened.
