When Tom discovers that his father is suffering from heart problems, he decides to accompany Jeff and Dixie back in to the prison. However, another inmate is annoyed at the visiting hours being cut short and kicks off, putting Tom and Jeff in a dangerous position.
As Tom treats his father, he soon discovers more about his past than he ever thought possible. But as he reconsiders who he really is, Sam makes it clear that she will stick by him no matter what.
Meanwhile, Tess treats a young girl suffering from headaches, but becomes distracted as she considers her future.
