Shonda Rhimes's (Grey's Anatomy) political thriller Scandal has found a home on UK TV on More4.

Kerry Washington stars as former White House communications director Olivia Pope in the ABC show. Her character is partially based on George Bush press aide Judy Smith.

Based in Washington DC, the show centres on Pope's new crisis management firm and its staff.

Henry Ian Cusick, Columbus Short, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Jeff Perry and Tony Goldwyn also star in the first season.

It premieres in the UK on Thursday, October 25.

The show's second season started in the US last month.

I watched the first episode and thought it was okay,at least it's a bit different from other programme's that deal with the law.

John Barrowman will guest-star in an upcoming episode of Scandal, executive producer Shonda Rhimes tweeted Tuesday night. Details on his role are being kept under wraps, but Barrowman will appear in the episode slated for Thursday, May 9.

Barrowman is the latest in a long line of stellar guest stars during the ABC series' second season, including Lisa Edelstein, Kurt Fuller, Eric Mabius, Sam Page, Brenda Song, Sam Anderson, Tom Amandes and Fringe's Jasika Nicole, who will appear in Scandal's return episode on Thursday, April 25.
