SHAMELESS star Elliott Tittensor was under arrest last night on suspicion of attempted murder after a lad of 18 was run over and BLINDED.
The actor - Carl Gallagher in the Channel 4 show - is alleged to have deliberately aimed his sporty BMW Z4 at him and then driven off without stopping.

Tittensor, 20, gave himself up at a police station an hour later and is believed to have passed a breath test.
The drama unfolded at 2am yesterday after Tittensor and girlfriend Kaya Scodelario - Effy Stonem in teen hit Skins - went to a McDonald's in Kentish Town, North London.

The 18-year-old is said to have recognised Tittensor and tried to talk to him. He followed him into the street and then stood in front of his car.
A source said: "Tittensor apparently deliberately drove his car straight at him. Though he was only driving slowly, the boy went up on the bonnet, rolled into the road and struck his head on the kerb."
Doctors at the nearby Royal Free Hospital first feared the teenager might die from head injuries. He is now stable but is believed to have lost the sight in both eyes.
Kaya, 18 - voted 13th in FHM magazine's 100 world's sexiest women - will be interviewed as a witness.

Manchester-born Tittensor's big break came when he and his identical twin brother Luke appeared in Brookside.
Luke went on to play Daz Eden in Emmerdale but was sacked in April after he admitted at Bolton Crown Court to fracturing a 16-year-old lad's jaw in a brawl in Rochdale. He was given a nine-month sentence suspended for two years.

Just like his brother a thug. That will him getting the boot from Shameless, like his brother did from Emmerdale.

TV star Elliott Tittensor has been charged with driving without insurance following a car accident this summer.

The 20 year old, famous for his role in hit TV series Shameless, was accused of hitting teenager Oliver Flint with his car in London in August.

The 18 year old was left fighting for his life in hospital and reportedly suffered permanent damage to one of his eyes.

Tittensor handed himself in to police after the incident and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and later bailed.

Now cops have officially charged the actor - but only for driving his BMW without compulsory car insurance.

He will appear in court in November.

How does an attempted murder trial end up as a slap on the wrist driving ban? A complete waste of tax payers money. Why send it to court just let the police deal out the sentence.

Elliott Tittensor was reportedly attacked as he left court earlier today.

The Shameless actor was leaving Highbury Magistrates' Court after being fined for driving without insurance when a grey-haired man in his 40s set upon him.

"He was walking down the steps when a guy tapped him on the shoulder and just smacked him in the stomach all of a sudden," an onlooker told BBC News. "He came from nowhere, I don't know who he was."

Three policemen restrained the attacker on the ground before he was led away down a nearby street.

It is unknown if Tittensor or his girlfriend - actress Kaya Scodelario, - were hurt in the incident.

The 20-year-old actor had been charged over the August car accident, which left 18-year-old Oliver Flint with permanent eye injuries, last week. The actor was today ordered to pay a £750 fine and was given six penalty points.

A bit more detail

SHAMELESS star Elliott Tittensor was attacked today after appearing in court over an incident that left a teen blind in one eye.
The actor was leaving after his case when he was confronted by a man who punched him in the stomach.
Tittensor — Carl Gallagher in the Channel 4 show — had been fined £750 after being caught driving without insurance.

He was held after a confrontation with Oliver Flint, which left the 18-year-old with permanent eye injuries.
His attacker is believed to be a friend of the injured teen.
Tittensor, 20, was originally charged with attempted murder over the incident.
As he was attacked his actress girlfriend — Skins star Kaya Scodelario — leapt back and burst into tears, clutching her hand to her mouth in horror.

An onlooker said: "He walked out of court hand in hand with his girlfriend and this guy suddenly came from nowhere, tapped him on the shoulder and belted him in the stomach."
The TV star was in the car with Ms Scodelario, 18, in the early hours of August 15 when the incident involving Mr Flint happened outside a branch of McDonald's in Kentish Town, North London.
His girlfriend had gone in to get some food when she was hassled by a group inside.
When the group left, they began causing trouble with Tittensor, and one got on the bonnet of the car.
The star drove back and forward to shake him off, and Mr Flint was left blind in one eye.
Tittensor, from Heywood, Gtr Manchester, had pleaded guilty to driving his BMW without insurance — but the CPS ruled he had acted in self-defence before Mr Flint ended up in hospital.

His previous insurance policy had expired only a month earlier though he had a previous conviction for driving with a mobile phone and already had three points on his licence.
District Judge Robin McPhee also ordered him to pay £85 costs and he was given a further six penalty points at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court in North London.
Tittensor's acting breakthrough came when he starred in Brookside with his twin brother Luke.
When Shameless started in 2004 they took it in turns to play Carl.
A Met Police spokesman confirmed a man had been arrested for affray.
He said: "A 46-year old man was arrested for affray outside Highbury Corner Magistrate's Court at around 10.13 this morning after assaulting another man."

A man has pleaded guilty to attacking Shameless star Elliott Tittensor on the steps of a court.

John Russell Flint, 47, assaulted the 21-year-old actor after he was fined for driving without insurance following a car accident which left Flint's teenage son with permanent eye injuries.

Elliott, who plays Carl Gallagher in the Channel 4 show, was unhurt after being hauled to the ground outside London's Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on November 2 last year.

Flint, of no fixed address, admitted the charge, which relates to fear or provocation of violence under section four of the Public Order Act, at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court, sitting at Stratford Magistrates' Court in east London.

Clare Mirza, prosecuting, said: "Elliott Tittensor attended a court appearance at Highbury Corner. This was a high-profile case and it was believed there was likely to be a lot of press interest.

"Various police officers were assigned to the court and there were approximately three paparazzi that morning.

"Mr Tittensor left the court after his hearing and a car pulled up outside on Holloway Road.

"Two males exited. Mr Tittensor appeared, and the defendant, having been waiting outside of court, threw a punch at Mr Tittensor."

The prosector said the defendant later admitted to police he had thrown a punch. Flint was told by Mr Bryant to attend Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on April 12 at 1.30pm to be sentenced.

Flint, who represented himself during the hearing, said: "I apologise to the court. I just lost my temper. I saw his face smiling outside of the court.
