Australian actress Andrea McEwan is joining Coronation Street as a love rival to Sally Webster.

McEwan will play Lisa Ditchfield, who will compete for the attention of Sally's lover Ian Davenport, while Sally is away on holiday. Cheating Sally is furious when Ian brings in Lisa to cover her duties at Davenport's Garage while she is away.

A source told The Sun, "Sally tells Ian that her daughter knows about their affair and they have to sort things out. But as usual, he leaves her dangling."

It was only a matter of time that Sally Webster’s affair with Ian Davenport would be exposed.
But it’s daughter Rosie who discovers her mother’s secret!

“Ian comes round with his wife and daughter,” Sally Whittaker, who plays the unfaithful minx, tells Soaplife magazine. “He and Sally are in the kitchen opening a bottle of wine when there is a split-second look between them.

“Rosie sees it and the penny drops. She knew her mum was having an affair – now she knows who with.”

Rosie gives her mother a look of pure hatred and Sally is forced to tell her the truth in the hope that she will keep it quiet.

But the Goth makes her mother swear that she’ll end the affair.

“She tells Rosie the truth about the affair,” says Sally. “It’s risky but she feels she has no other choice.

“Sally promises Rosie that she’ll end the affair. But she’s enjoying the excitement of it and the extra cash.”

So, does she finally get rid of love-rat Ian?

“Sally’s living in a fool’s paradise where Ian’s concerned so she probably thinks she could,” she says. “But she’d do well not to trust a word he says.”
